    Financial Controller (Cross-Border Payments)

    Role Overview

    • We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to oversee key financial operations and ensure strong financial management within a growing financial services organization.
    • The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with strong experience across financial reporting, accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis.
    • This role requires someone who can manage multiple finance functions while providing accurate financial insights to support business decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
    • Manage financial accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closing
    • Oversee bank and payment account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
    • Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements including tax filings, VAT, withholding tax, and regulatory submissions
    • Support external audit processes and coordinate documentation for financial reviews
    • Monitor daily cash flow and manage treasury-related activities
    • Maintain accurate records for accounts payable and receivable
    • Develop financial reports, forecasts, and financial models to support management decision-making
    • Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations.

    Requirements
    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
    • 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management roles particularly with "Cross-Border Payments" 
    • Experience within cross border/international financial services, fintech, banking, or regulated financial institutions is an advantage

    Certifications & Technical Skills:

    • ICAN (ACA) or ACCA qualification is required
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
    • Experience using accounting or ERP systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar tools
    • Good understanding of IFRS standards, tax compliance, and financial reporting frameworks.
