    Financial Accounting and Control Manager

    Job Description

    • We are seeking an experienced financial accounting and control professional to join its food processing business.
    • The successful candidate must be a strong problem solver and a self-starter that requires little guidance to thrive in a demanding corporate environment.
    • The candidate must have meaningful prior professional experience and a track record of success in a similar role at a reputable company.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Maintain a compliant financial environment by developing tools and systems to provide management with critical information to implement strategic actions
    • Prepare periodic consolidated financial statements and reconcile the balance sheet ledger
    • Maintain proper accounting records, process financial transactions, administer payroll, and prepare periodic (weekly, monthly and quarterly) financial statements
    • Build and routinely update a full operating model projecting the company’s performance over five years
    • Draft a weekly operating budget in line with the operating plan and monitor its implementation to assess actual financial performance relative to stated objectives
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, including variance analyses and spending forecast reports and suggest strategic recommendations for management
    • Develop a preferred vendors list for frequent or recurring purchases and implement a purchasing process to ensure the company incurs fair prices
    • Spearhead periodic market research to guide management’s strategic decisions
    • Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, external auditors, banking officials, tax authorities, government officials, contractors and consultants.

    Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Finance or Accounting from a reputable academic institution is required
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and strong experience with accounting software is preferred
    • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated track record of leadership, hard work and positive outcomes are preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role at reputable company is required
    • Solid and verifiable references are required

    Remuneration

    • Salary: N75,000 / month.
    • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience

    Agronomist

    Job Description

    • We are seeking an experienced Technologist to help manage a large-scale organic plantain farm.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Contribute to building a detailed working plan to produce 3 bunches of plantain per hole per twelve months
    • Develop a training plan to teach laborers how to perform seed removal, weed maintenance and fertilization to harvest a plantain bunch per hole every 4 months
    • Prepare daily operating plans to effectively schedule the farming staff and to ensure the laborers’ supervisors understand their performance expectations
    • Devise monitoring reports to evaluate the performance of the team at each phase of the farming process (land preparation, implantation, maintenance, irrigation and harvest)
    • Spearhead the hiring of temporary / contract farm laborers and identify high performers to join the team on a fulltime basis
    • Help craft strategies to mitigate the prevalence of diseases and pests on the farm, and identify efficient solutions to resolve these issues whenever they appear
    • Write periodic progress reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) detailing both the activities on the farm and the crops’ performance
    • Craft and implement plantain bunch census strategies and devise effective harvesting processes to mitigate instances of bunches rotting on the farm
    • Ensure that all staff adhere to health & safety regulations, and that farm activities comply with both federal and state government regulations

    Job Requirements

    • Ccandidates should possess a Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric) or Master of Agriculture (M.Agric)
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity on a farm and with a demonstrated track record of leadership, hard work and success is preferred
    • Ability to learn new agriculture practices
    • Solid and verifiable references
    • The successful candidate must have prior meaningful farm experience and demonstrate a passion for growing organic plantain to effectively lead the daily planning, organization, supervision, and farming activities.
    • The ability to live on or near the farm is prerequisite to efficiently execute our company’s strategy and achieve our yield targets.
