    Finance Manager and Procedures Development Lead

    Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos
    Department: Finance and Accounting
    Reports to: MD & Board of Directors

    Job Summary

    • The Finance Manager has overall responsibility for the financial activities of the company. The role will, in addition to managing the company accountant, include providing support to the management team on a variety of finance related issues, including direct liason with Corporate CFO office, while also ensuring maximum return on investment and minimizing risk of financial loss through unsecured exposures.
    • The Finance Manager will also provide in-depth financial analysis including, but not limited to financial analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, reviewing operational performance and development and implementation of a detailed manual of policies and procedures to guide the operations of the company as a going concern.

    Key Role and Responsibilities
    Management:

    • Manage the job function of the company accountant and 1st level approver for all financial transactions.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a documented system of accounting, internal control activities and general operational set of policies and procedures, in line with Company’s guidelines and approved by the Board of Directors.
    • Manage outsourced functions and personnel.
    • Establish and maintain close liaison with Corporate CFO office for support, preparation, and approval of MRF, management reports, cash flow statement and treasury operations.

    Funds Management:

    • Forecast cash flow positions and/or related borrowing needs and propose cash management options to Corporate CFO office for approval.
    • Ensure sufficient availability of funds to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
    • Ensure all local currency sales are hedged against a major convertible currency to mitigate financial risks related to financial exposures or foreign exchange positions.
    • Maintain banking relationships.
    • Manage trade finance requirements/instruments to fulfill business needs.
    • Monitor and manage receivables and credit limits.

    Budgeting:

    • Work with Managing Director during the annual budget cycle to develop the company's financial targets for the year and prepare budget presentation for management approval.
    • Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.
    • Prepare quarterly management report showing variances across the different financial KPIs of the budget and provide reasons for such variances.

    Financial Analysis:

    • Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis in all areas of the company.
    • Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
    • Assist in the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing.
    • Support the CAPEX approval process by preparing economic evaluation models showing Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) based on a discounted cash flow analysis and establishment of realistic cost and revenue estimates that are in line with the market.
    • Any other ad hoc financial activities of the company.

    Requirements
    Academic Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent Business experience
    • Possession of a Master’s Degree in a Commercial discipline will be an advantage.

    Professional Qualification:

    • Preference will be given to candidates with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or similar certification.

    Experience:

    • 5 years of mid-senior level experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Detailed working knowledge of accounting, including understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), corporate finance and management reporting
    • Conversant with MS office and wide range of accounting/ERP packages.
    • Attention to detail, deadline-oriented, confidentiality, time entry and general math skills.
    • Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly with regards presenting the results of analysis to management.
    • Should have an outstanding knowledge of electronic spreadsheets.

    IT Manager

    Job Summary

    • The IT Manager Infrastructure and Operations sets the strategic and tactical direction for the company’s operations.
    • This position provides primary direction and supervision to IT staff who are responsible for the fiscal, operational planning, acquisition, deployment, security and support of information technology infrastructure technologies to include voice, data communication systems, including but not limited to local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN, WIFI) routers, switches, servers, email, virtual server infrastructure, security systems (firewalls, load balancer, anti-virus systems, etc.),UPS, fire suppression systems, environmental, wiring, business continuity (i.e., backup / recovery plans /systems, disaster recovery plans / systems, hardware / firmware patching standards) for the company.
    • This position will have overall responsibility for internal and external (cloud) hardware that support the company and implement technical and preventive maintenance programs for ALL hardware to provide stable, secure, and reliable services.
    • Additionally, this position must work effectively with vendors and service providers to fulfill service level agreements and ensures that appropriate IT resources are identified and distributed where needed.
    • This position also works with all departments to negotiate the initiation/continuance of applications/systems based on business needs and available resources, and institutes adequate controls for underlying programs per departmental and group-wide IT policies & standards

    Key Role and Responsibilities

    • The IT Manager provides domain expertise and leadership in IT Department projects and assessments.
    • Ensures that platforms are efficiently utilized, the cost to operate and support the platforms aligns with business expectations, and that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met for all platforms.
    • Ensure that activities related to keeping the infrastructure performing optimally including backing up the systems, performance tuning, installing operating system upgrades and patches, implementing security and virus protection, and providing 24-hour monitoring and support.
    • Ensure that activities related to Internet infrastructure including management of firewalls to provide Internet connectivity for company functions and provide 24-hour monitoring and support.
    • Manage assigned operations to achieve organizational goals and plan, develop, and administer the IT budget and provide data for cost allocation.
    • Lead the process of establishing project scopes, system designs, business and technology analysis, system development, and testing throughout the system’s lifecycle.
    • Improve, tune, and expand all systems as growth demands.
    • Ensures infrastructure installations go smoothly, as well as software and hardware upgrades.
    • Ensure maximum accountability and accuracy for management of technology assets, vendors, software licensing, and hardware support.
    • Maintain a disaster recovery plan for IT operations and production systems and coordinate responses to emergency production issues; resolve conflicting demands from users for service.
    • Provide outage and crisis leadership with crisp, clear communication to stakeholders, vendors, and executive management.
    • Provide technical input and recommendations for contracts, software and related goods and services needed for technology areas. Negotiate with and direct vendors and contractors, including contract management.
    • Provide leadership and direction through developed short and long-range technology plans.
    • Review and update annual and multi-year plans to assure their implementation and continued maintenance.
    • Partner closely with other department managers to ensure proactive planning, smooth deployment, and excellent on-going support for their applications.
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technical solutions, support standards, data security, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
    • Meet travel requirements of the position.
    • Perform the physical requirements of the position, work within the established working conditions of the position.
    • Work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Assists Company’s Head with special projects as assigned.
    • Training staff to use new IT systems.

    Job Specification
    Academic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other relevant discipline from a reputable institution.
    • An MBA or Masters’ Degree in any business-related discipline is an added advantage

    Experience:

    • Minimum of ten (10) years’ post-graduation experience in IT Domain with at least five (5) years’ experience in Senior Management role.

    Head, Brand Management and Marketing Communications

    Job Summary

    • The position will oversee all marketing communication and promotional activities designed to generate product and brand awareness.

    • Facilitate the development and implementation of SIMS’ marketing communications and brand promotion strategy and programmes.

    • Monitor the preparation of promotional materials for marketing effectiveness and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.

    • Liaise with respective stakeholders including channel heads and OEMs to provide required support for marketing and new business development efforts.
    • Maintain brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives and communication.
    • Lead creative development and media deployment of agreed communications to ensure consistency with the brand strategy.
    • Monitor all activities on SIMS website including content, look and feel, etc.
    • Oversee the development of all marketing/ brand related communications (graphic and print materials) originating from the organization.
    • Liaise with the digital & technology department to ensure relevant users (existing/ prospective customers) enjoy continuous access to accurate and up-to-date product/company information.
    • Liaise with media consultants and public relations agencies and ensure accuracy and consistency with the preferred brand image and established specifications/standards.
    • Ensure adequate and positive media coverage for the organization and act as a media spokesperson when require
    • Stay abreast with global and local best practice as it relates to the unit’s activities.
    • Develop periodic activity reports for the attention of the Head, National Marketing.
