Job Summary
- Our client looking for an Engineering Lead who will play a crucial role in overseeing all commercial aspects of the projects and contracts.
- The primary focus will be on maximizing profitability while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with all commercial and contractual obligations
Responsibilities
Engineering Management & Technical Oversight:
- Lead the engineering team (i.e. structural, civil, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc) in design, development, and execution of EPC projects.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with international codes, industry standards (API, ASME, IEC, etc.), and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering phases.
- Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and design optimizations to improve project efficiency.
- Ensure integration of engineering, procurement, and construction activities for seamless execution.
Project Coordination & Execution:
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to align engineering deliverables with project schedules.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring timely submission of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop engineers across multiple disciplines (structural, civil, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc.).
- Conduct technical training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Serve as the primary technical interface between clients, regulatory authorities, and internal project teams.
- Support tendering and proposal development by providing engineering input on cost estimates, technical solutions, and risk assessments.
Quality & Compliance Assurance:
- Ensure all engineering deliverables adhere to quality standards, contract specifications, and best practices.
- Implement and monitor adherence to HSE, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Masters degree.
- Relevant professional qualification(s) and membership (COREN, PMP, etc).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in engineering design, project execution, and leadership within the EPC industry.
- Strong knowledge of EPC project lifecycles, engineering codes, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, STAAD, PDMS, ETAP, HYSYS, or similar tools depending on discipline).
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale projects not limited to pressure vessel, tanks, pipelines, fabrication and construction of structures etc.

Responsibilities
Contract Management & Administration:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating EPC contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements.
- Ensure contracts are properly executed, recorded, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Support contract interpretation, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial terms.
- Track contract deliverables, obligations, and key milestones to avoid disputes or penalties.
- Supports the Commercial/Legal manager in developing the overall plan that addresses the contracting processes and execution of contracts as specified by Management.

Risk & Compliance Management:

Change Order & Claims Management:
- Support the evaluation, negotiation, and documentation of contract variations, claims, and change orders.
- Maintain records of correspondence, contractual notices, and amendments to prevent disputes
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and legal teams to ensure smooth contract execution
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain an organized database of contracts, amendments, and related legal documents.
- Prepare periodic reports on contract performance, risks, and compliance issues.
- Assist in audits and contract closeout activities at project completion.
Requirements
- LLB, B.ENG /HND in Engineering, Project Management, or any related technical field
- 8 -10 years’ experience as contracts analyst/administrator in Oil & Gas, Energy, Telecommunication Engineering/Construction Projects
- Good understanding of engineering/construction contract management
- Standard computer & IT skills (MS Work Package)
- Knowledge of international trade terms
- Related professional courses such as PMP, PRINCE2, CBAP, CPCM.

- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for equipment and infrastructure.
- Optimize facility layout and processes to enhance productivity and reduce bottlenecks.
- Manage facility utilities and assets, including but not limited to power, electrical and electronic systems, mechanical and HVAC, water and waste management, janitorial services, heavy-duty equipment, vehicle fleet maintenance, and ensure sustainability.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
- Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies in all facility-based EPC activities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international engineering, environmental, and safety regulations.

EPC Project Planning & Execution:

- Manage third-party contractors handling fabrication, galvanizing, and facility improvement projects.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to standards.
Space Planning & Asset Management:
- Oversee workspace allocation, office moves, and renovations.
- Maintain an inventory of furniture, equipment, and facility assets.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage budgets for facility-based EPC projects and maintenance activities.
- Track and control costs, identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with senior management, operations, and engineering teams to align facility projects with business goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years cognate experience not less than 4 years in Senior management position in related industrial sectors (especially mechanical and fabrication projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP, COREN, NSE, or any other relevant professional qualification.
