Purpose

• A talented and motivated Data Scientist with a strong background in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning who is willing to work closely with cross-functional teams to leverage data to drive business decisions and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Statistical Modelling: Develop and implement statistical models to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data.
• Machine Learning: Build, train, and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems and improve decision-making processes.

• Experimentation and Hypothesis Testing: Design experiments and conduct hypothesis testing to validate assumptions, assess the impact of interventions, or optimize outcomes.
• Data Visualization: Create clear and compelling visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work with product, engineering, and business teams to understand their needs and provide data-driven solutions.
• Reporting: Generate reports and dashboards to track key metrics and performance indicators.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• As a Data Engineer, you will be accountable for designing, developing and deploying ETL jobs to process petabytes of data through our big data platform, to enable analytics initiatives and data science.
• You will be passionate about big data, working daily on data extraction, load and transformation in big data environments to ensure the successful, on-time, delivery of high-quality data.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design and develop ETL jobs in big data environments to process petabytes of data.
• Build reusable frameworks or jobs which can be used in different projects.
• Developing code to automate jobs using real-time services, and flexible coding to remove dependencies.
• Manage Data Services and Data Quality transformations using SQL: Analyzing redundant and inconsistent data.
• Own continuous improvement and performance testing: Document ETL-related issues and perform RCA, identify long running jobs and optimization opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• 3 - 4 years’ experience
• Development experience in EITHER: Talend Big Data Edition on Hadoop or BODS
• Hands on experience in ETL design, source-target mapping, developing and performance tuning complex ETL code
• Experience with Infrastructure automation, build automation and deployment automation
• Experience in working with GIT, SVN or VSTS
• Experience in connecting to heterogeneous sources including SAP ECC, Hadoop, Hive, Amazon, Azure, Salesforce, SAP among others
• Experience with multiple file formats and file location objects including SFTP, FTP, local, HDFS, ADLS, BLOB, Amazon S3
• Good understanding of HDInsight cluster, Microsoft SQL Servers as well as RDBMS databases & No-SQL databases
• Knowledge of Slowly Changing Dimension, ABAP Data flow Extractions, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, OLTP and OLAP
• Hands on experience of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering. Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics or similar

PURPOSE

• It requires working cross functionally, taking initiatives to enhance the capability of applications, to take an end-to-end ownership, and to find opportunities to deliver efficiency to enhance customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot and provide resolutions to issues and outages
• Ensure the Resolved Status Service Level Agreement (SLA) is not breached by resolving tickets timeously
• Ensure that tickets are updated in line with the Process (With approval and a valid reason)
• Ensure that tickets are acknowledged before they breach the Ticket Acknowledgement SLA
• Quality Assurance Management - Ensure that a QA average of 98% is achieved on all call
• management assessments individually, based on ticket management quality
• Customer Experience: Excellent customer service delivered daily to avoid escalations, customer complaints and re-opening of calls
• Provide active resolution on all calls or emails logged for IT assistance within the agreed upon SLA timeframes
• Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems timeously

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in network admin, systems support or similar role
