    Data Entry Operator

    Main Purpose

    • Carry out all activities related to entry of medical data into the mission database, according to MSF protocols and maintain confidentiality, in order to have reliable and up-to-date information.

    Job Description

    • Enter medical data (e.g. patient data, dates of visit, content of prescription, viral load, etc.) in the mission's database on a regular basis and according to MSF protocols.
    • Participate in the compilation of data from both MSF structures and from collaborating health facilities.
    • Participate in the search for missing data.
    • Update files of existing patients and make any corrections needed.
    • Make regular back-ups of all data processed.
    • Look after all equipment provided and keep the recording area clean and tidy, giving special importance to all patient files.
    • Report any issue concerning data management to the superior.
    • Elaborate statistical reports when required by the medical team.
    • Ensure, promote and maintain confidentiality regarding all information registered.
    • Provide training to staff as necessary to ensure proper data collection and registration is complete.
    • Maintain medical confidentiality.
    • Entering the emergency room, ICU and Pediatric IPD patient records into PRAXIS on a daily/Weekly basis.
    • Capturing/line listing of diseases under surveillance (Measles, Cholera, Meningitis, Suspected VHF), on a regular basis as they present to the health facility.
    • Assist the Registrar in locating missing patient folders.
    • Archiving of exit patient folders accordingly in the medical office and subsequent movement to the main archive room in the guest house biweekly/monthly.
    • Supports the compilation of weekly/monthly project medical data reporting.
    • Flexibility - can cover for Registrar when an urgent need arises.

    Requirements

    Education 

    • National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health Information Management.

    Experience 

    • At least one year of experience in Data Entry and previous experience in other NGO’s

    Languages 

    • Fluent English (oral and written English), Hausa, and Kanuri are Essential

    Knowledge

    • Able to learn and use software used for recording (i.e., Praxis, DHIS2, etc.)
    • Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel)

    Competencies

    Remuneration

    • According to the MSF salary scale, plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.

    AMR Data Entry Operator (Antimicrobial Resistance)

    Main Purpose

    • Capturing/line listing of diseases under surveillance, on a regular basis as they present to the health facility.
    • Assist Registrar in locating missing patient folders.
    • Archiving of exit patient folders accordingly in the medical office and subsequent movement to the main archive room in the guest house bi_weekly/monthly.
    • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data collected from multiple sources, including the minilab.
    • Regularly clean, verify, and cross-check data for errors or inconsistencies in collaboration with the research or lab team.
    • Maintain and update patient identifiers and specimen tracking logs while observing confidentiality protocols.
    • Generate periodic data entry reports, summaries, and backups.
    • Collaborate with the data manager, microbiologists, or clinical research team to ensure standardization of data variables and formats.
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data handling, entry, and storage.
    • Assist in digitizing paper-based records or forms when necessary.
    • Participate in AMR-related training sessions and team meetings.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
    • Flexibility - can cover for Registrar when urgent need arises

    Requirements
