    Controller: Inventory - Sokoto

    Job Function

    • Responsible functionally to the Customer Service Manager, controlling the flow of goods including receipt, storage, issues, and other inventory management functions and keeping accurate accounting and records of stock items.

    Key Performance Areas:

    Stock Management

    • Performs warehousing and storekeeping tasks to include, receiving, identifying, handling, storing, and issuing clients’ stock.
    • Post stock receipts and issues into the respective stock physical binders of each client immediately after any transaction.
    • Maintain compliance with operating procedures in terms of Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) and adherence to SOP/ SLA agreed with clients.
    • Determine appropriate storage locations, placement of stocks, warehouse arrangement to maximise space utilization in the warehouse.
    • Unpack and assemble incoming items and check for condition, quantity, and type against shipping documents, fix stock identification tags where applicable.
    • Issue warehouse stocks to fill requisitions as required.
    • In conjunction with the CSM and clients’ representatives, establish delivery priorities and delivery destination points through coordinated activities.
    • In conjunction with the Quality Assurance Pharmacist/CSM, update stock expiry status (Stock Expiry Reports), damaged, expired stock etc and place damaged/expired stocks in the quarantine bay. Escalation of all damaged, expired, and faulty stocks to the CSM and Quality Assurance Pharmacist and ensure they are separated from sound stock physically.

    Stock reporting

    • Take physical inventory checks on a regular basis and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly. Escalate to CSM all observed discrepancies within 24 hours.
    • Provide accurate records of physical stocks in warehouse whenever required.

    GWP

    • Manage all warehousing process in line with clients SOPs/SLAs · Maintain Good Warehousing Practices (GWP).
    • Ensures warehouse and stock safety, proper storage conditions, temperatures, practices, methods are maintained.

    Assets

    • Monitor the safety, security and cleanliness of the warehouse and report accordingly.
    • Ensure the protection of the company’s assets against careless handling and fraudulent practices. Supervise operators of material handling equipment (forklifts) used in receipt, storage, and shipment of goods within warehouse areas.

    HSE

    • Shall promote a culture of safety and align with MDS HSEQ policy and guidelines.
    • Participation in TQS and HSE meetings and carrying out agreed action points

    Qualifications Required:

    • Graduate degree/HND in Natural/Social Sciences or any other disciplines.

    Experience and Skills Required:

    • 1-2 years post qualification experience in warehousing, inventory management, store keeping or customer service
    • WMS experience
    • Inventory management experience
    • Process or workflow management
    • Customer service experience

    Manager: Stock Control

    Job Function

    • The role involves being responsible for the profitable and efficient management of Offsite Operations within the production plants, aiming to achieve the set targets of the operations.

    Key Performance Areas:

    Management

    • Lead the operations process within prescribed parameters for the weighbridge operation as agreed in the clients SOPs/SLAs.
    • Providing leadership to Operation’s team; communicating MDS objectives and targets in Key Performance Areas (KPA) to the team.
    • Ensure availability of productivity numbers
    • Ensure resources are on ground and within the agreed quality standards.
    • Ensures the Dispatch Assistants provide seamless service within prescribed parameters or report deviation to (Lafarge) Dispatch Executive /Assistant Dispatch Manager
    • Ensures all subordinates perform their functions to achieve timely and seamless dispatches and reception of raw material.
    • Ensures that operations during shift is performed safe for all in the operating environment.
    • Ensures that team members attend all scheduled training programs and other company exercises. Appraises the performance of team members and ensure corrective actions are taken. · Ensure there is free flow of trucks to and from the packing plant.
    • Prepares monthly roster and ensures drivers are promptly attended to by Dispatch Assistant on the weigh bridge.
    • Monitor compliance with operating procedures in terms of Weighbridge Management Solutions (WMS) and adherence to SLA agreed with clients.
    • Devise strategies that will generate sustainable volume growth of the business.
    • Regularly review Operations financial performance and align with set targets.
    • Ensure timeliness in hourly, Daily, Weekly and Monthly Performance Reporting on the agreed client’s documentation platforms.
    • Initiate monthly Operations review meetings with the team to appraise service performance and resolve operational issues.
    • Appraise personnel performance and recommend promotion, reward/disciplinary actions to be taken.
    • Identify training gaps in direct reports and recommend improvement courses for personnel.
    • Ensure service excellence through teamwork.
    • Prepare and forward to line manager Monthly Report based on agreed format, highlighting achievements and challenges.

    Customer service

    • Ensures efficient service delivery to customers (prompt and accurate documentation) within the specified time allocation.
    • Ensure prompt resolution of complaints (within 2 hours)
    • Immediate escalation of complaints beyond resolution after 2 hours to line manager or the Lafarge Logistics team.
    • Attends to team members', customers' driver, and suppliers' complaints or refers them to Dispatch executive on duty as necessary.

    Expense Management

    • Check and authorise expenses within the agreed limit and control the level of expenses Assets management
    • Maintenance/management of MDS assets such as Computers deployed to the operation.
    • Ensure the protection of company’s properties assets against fraudulent practices.

    HSE

    • Promote a culture of safety and align with MDS HSEQ policy and guidelines.
    • In alignment with Lafarge specifications, coordinates the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) activities.

    Government/ vendor/ other stakeholders

    • Management of government agencies and community relationship

    Qualifications Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or other Management/Business Studies

    Experience and Skills Required:

    • At least 5 years’ post qualification experience in Operations Management
    • Inventory management
    • People Management
    • Process or workflow management
    • Order fulfilment
    • Proficient with Microsoft office suite, SAP and/ or related software
    • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Customer service skills
    • Conflict Management/ Resolution skills
