    Construction Project Engineer

    Role Summary

    • As a Construction Project Manager, you will be the primary lead responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-value construction projects. You will oversee strategic planning, financial management, and operational execution to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest engineering standards. This role requires a leader with extensive technical expertise, a proven track record in Nigerian construction standards, and the ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary teams and high-level stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Leadership & Strategic Planning

    • Direct the development of comprehensive project execution plans, master schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
    • Establish project milestones and critical paths to ensure seamless execution across all phases.
    • Lead project kick-off meetings and provide high-level direction to site engineering teams.

    Financial & Cost Management

    • Take full ownership of the project budget, including cost forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
    • Approve major procurement orders and validate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) accuracy to prevent budget overruns.
    • Manage contract variations and negotiate with vendors to optimize project profitability.

    Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight

    • Ensure all project activities strictly adhere to National Building Codes, engineering standards, and Ucalux quality benchmarks.
    • Review and sign off on major technical submissions, structural drawings, and material specifications.
    • Conduct high-level site audits to verify that "as-built" progress matches approved designs.

    Stakeholder & Vendor Management

    • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, consultants (Architects, Structural Engineers), and regulatory authorities.
    • Manage the selection and performance of subcontractors, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and timelines.
    • Facilitate executive-level progress meetings and project briefings.

    Risk, HSE & Change Management

    • Perform comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for large-scale engineering projects.
    • Enforce a "Zero Tolerance" safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on site.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Project Schedule Compliance: ≥ 95% of project milestones achieved within the baseline timeline.
    • Budget & Cost Control: Variance between planned budget and actual project cost kept ≤ 3%.
    • HSE & Safety Compliance: Zero (0) Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and zero safety violations due to management oversight.
    • Quality Compliance Rate: Zero (0) major non-conformities identified during external or regulatory inspections.
    • Technical Turnaround: Approval of RFI and drawing revisions within 48 hours to prevent site delays.

    Requirements

    • Education: BSc or HND in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    • Experience: 5–10 years of verifiable experience in construction project management.
    • Strong report writing and knowledged of contract (like JCT) is required
    • Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., COREN, PMP, NIQS, or NIOB) are a significant advantage
    • Soft Skill: Good Communication Skill and Client interface
    • Location: Ability to work from the Head Office and various project sites.

    Site Engineer

    Role Summary

    • As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day technical supervision and operational execution of construction activities on-site. You will ensure that all work is carried out according to approved engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for solving real-time technical issues and ensuring that material usage and labor productivity align with the project schedule.

    Key Responsibilities

    Site Supervision & Execution

    • Supervise daily construction activities to ensure they meet the methodology and sequencing requirements set by the Project Engineer.
    • Coordinate on-site labor and subcontractors to maintain 90% or higher schedule compliance.
    • Set out the works and verify levels and dimensions against the latest approved construction drawings.

    Quality Control & Technical Compliance

    • Conduct periodic site inspections to identify and resolve technical non-conformities before they escalate.
    • Ensure all materials used on-site have been approved through the formal material quality submission process.
    • Manage on-site testing and commissioning procedures (e.g., concrete slump tests, cube tests) as required.

    Safety & HSE Management

    • Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols among all site workers.
    • Identify potential engineering risks on-site and propose immediate mitigation strategies to the Project Manager.
    • Ensure zero safety violations occur due to engineering instruction errors.

    Resource & Material Tracking

    • Track daily material consumption and report any variances to prevent project shortages.
    • Maintain accurate site logs, including weather conditions, labor headcounts, and daily progress diaries.
    • Coordinate the receipt and inspection of materials delivered to the site to ensure they match approved Purchase Orders.

    Reporting, Communication & Stakeholder Coordination

    • Prepare and submit daily and weekly site progress reports to the Project Lead.
    • Provide 24– 72 hours responsiveness to technical queries from site teams or consultants.
    • Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to address technical issues and ensure alignment on project goals.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Site Schedule Compliance: ≥ 90% of weekly site tasks achieved within planned timelines.
    • Quality Compliance Rate: ≤ 2 major non-conformities identified during monthly inspections.
    • Safety & HSE Support: Zero (0) safety violations arising from engineering instruction errors.
    • Drawing & Spec Accuracy: 100% usage of latest approved revisions.
    • Resource Efficiency: Zero (0) major material shortages due to planning or tracking errors.
    • Issue Resolution: Technical site issues resolved within 24–72 hours.

    Requirements

    • Education: BSc or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in site engineering or technical supervision.
    • Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction health and safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are preferred
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project) and an understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.

    Site Administrator

    Role Summary

    • The Site Administrator will be responsible for coordinating site administration, maintaining accurate project documentation and employee records, supporting communication between the project site and Head Office, and ensuring administrative processes are executed efficiently to support smooth project operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate site records, documentation, and filing systems.
    • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly administrative reports.
    • Monitor site attendance, timesheets, and workforce records.
    • Coordinate staff documentation, onboarding, and welfare activities on site.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and project documents.
    • Liaise with the Head Office to ensure timely submission of administrative information and required documentation.
    • Monitor office supplies and coordinate procurement requests for site administrative needs.
    • Support the Project Manager with administrative and operational coordination.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and administrative procedures.

    Requirements

    • OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative role, preferably within the construction, engineering, or project environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
