    Construction Manager

    Responsibilities

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities on site, ensuring that the project is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with quality requirements. The role requires strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience managing complex building projects involving multiple subcontractors and disciplines.

    The Construction Manager will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for:

    • Leading and coordinating all on-site construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Managing site teams, subcontractors and construction supervisors to ensure efficient project execution.
    • Ensuring compliance with approved construction schedules and project milestones.
    • Monitoring daily site operations and proactively resolving construction challenges.
    • Coordinating civil, structural, architectural, finishing and MEP activities.
    • Reviewing construction methods and ensuring adherence to project specifications and drawings.
    • Managing site productivity and optimizing workforce performance.
    • Ensuring effective planning and coordination of materials, equipment and labor resources.
    • Conducting regular progress meetings with site teams and subcontractors.
    • Monitoring quality standards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented where necessary.
    • Supporting project planning and reporting activities through accurate progress updates.
    • Enforcing strict compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
    • Identifying risks, potential delays and bottlenecks and implementing mitigation measures.
    • Collaborating closely with project management, engineering, procurement and commercial teams.
    • Participating in testing, commissioning and project handover activities.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 12 years' experience in the construction industry.
    • At least 7 years of experience supervising large-scale building construction projects.
    • Proven experience delivering high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use developments.
    • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, formwork systems and finishing works.
    • Solid understanding of MEP coordination within building projects.
    • Experience managing large multicultural workforces and multiple subcontractors.
    • Previous experience in Africa, the Middle East or international construction environments is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of construction planning principles and project controls.
    • Familiarity with international construction standards and quality management systems.
    • Strong site management and leadership capabilities.
    • Excellent coordination and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
    • Strong technical understanding of building construction methodologies.
    • Results-oriented with a hands-on management approach.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
    • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Fluent English is required.

    Construction Project Manager

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution and delivery of the project, ensuring that all activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a landmark development within one of Africa's most dynamic construction markets. The Project Manager will be responsible for:

    • Managing the full project lifecycle from mobilization through completion and handover.
    • Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
    • Coordinating all site activities to ensure efficient project execution.
    • Leading multidisciplinary construction teams including engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
    • Monitoring project progress and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
    • Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, technical specifications and quality standards.
    • Managing relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
    • Reviewing construction methodologies and ensuring effective execution strategies.
    • Monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities for optimization and value engineering.
    • Coordinating procurement and logistics activities to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
    • Managing risks, identifying potential delays and implementing mitigation measures.
    • Ensuring strict compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
    • Preparing regular project reports and presenting progress updates to senior management.
    • Supporting claims management and contractual correspondence where required.
    • Leading project close-out activities, testing, commissioning and final handover.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction industry.
    • At least 5 years of experience managing high-rise building projects.
    • Proven experience delivering residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use towers.
    • Experience managing projects valued above USD 20 million is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of reinforced concrete structures, finishing works and MEP coordination.
    • Previous experience in Africa, the Middle East or other international construction environments is an advantage.
    • Good knowledge of project planning and scheduling tools.
    • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and project control methodologies is desirable.
    • Membership of a recognized professional engineering body would be an advantage.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
    • Strong commercial awareness and cost control capabilities.
    • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding project environments.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Results-oriented with a strong focus on project delivery.
    • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
    • Fluent English is required.
