    Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

    Role Purpose

    • To position Kaduna Electric at the forefront of evolving energy technologies, including advanced distribution automation and renewable energy integration-ensuring a resilient, efficient and innovative electricity distribution system.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversees all company technical products and services activities towards revenue generation, covering but not limited to technical, engineering, and maintenance functions
    • Provide industry trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth, not limited to local perspectives but with strong awareness of Global perspectives
    • Develop technical efficiency and awareness, polices and standards that are aimed at ensuring optimal utilization of the company/departmental resources for the overall achievement of the company's set long-term and periodic objectives;
    • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all technical functions and commitments of the company
    • Take charge of the delivery of the entire technical and operational functions (design, engineering, tendering, project management) of distribution construction projects, and utility system and other large construction projects that have significant electrical engineering components
    • All staff of the Technical Department are evaluated against agreed performance objectives at pre-defined periods set by the HR function
    • Ensure proper establishment, documentation, implementation, control and maintenance of Quality, Cost, Labour and Time Management Systems
    • Ensure coordination and resolution of issues amongst departments relating to projects, cash flow, contracts and sub-contracts
    • Lead the Technical Department to effectively and efficiently deliver all projects with constant improvement of quality, reliability, performance, profitability and reputation of the company, keeping in view customer needs and satisfaction, of course meeting statutory and regulatory requirements
    • Drive continuous reduction in Technical Losses, SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIFI metrics
    • Oversee compliance with SBT, PIP, and operational standards across the 33KV and 11kV network
    • Interface with key regulators and stakeholders: TCN, NEMSA, NERC, etc.
    • Ensure efficient energy dispatch, grid reliability, and performance optimization
    • Lead the development of technical policies, standards, and operational KPIs

    Required Competencies

    • Deep expertise in distribution network optimization, renewable integration, and grid automation (SCADA/GIS)
    • Proven ability to navigate NERC, TCN, and NEMSA compliance frameworks
    • Track record of significantly reducing SAIDI/SAIFI in previous roles
    • Experience deploying smart grid/AMI technologies in emerging markets Crisis management in grid operations
    • Cross-functional collaboration

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering
    • Master's Degree in related fields and any additional advanced training relating to Power Systems Management is highly desirable

    Experience:

    • Minimum 15+ years in the utility/power sector, with 8+ years in a Senior Technical leadership role.

    Certifications:

    • Membership of NSE, COREN, IEE (required); Additional certifications in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) are an advantage.

    Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO)

    Role Purpose

    • To provide strategic oversight of Kaduna Electric's corporate services, HR operations, and administrative infrastructure ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices in Human Resource and Corporate Services management.
    • This includes the strategic direction, development, and implementation of the Corporate Services and human resources policies and processes. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization and enhancing its corporate image.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for building the strategic direction of HR, Admin & Corporate Services departments within the company
    • Develop a performance-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance within the division.
    • Develop and monitor the implementation of Corporate Services Department annual strategy in line with the overall business plan.
    • Ensure the strategic plans for supervising related departments, support the needs of the business and are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organization.
    • Work closely with the Finance Department to develop budgets and long-range facility plans based on company growth and future facility needs
    • Exercise a high level of independent judgment in the development and implementation of a comprehensive facility condition assessment, short- and long-term maintenance plans and preventative maintenance program
    • Oversee delivery of corporate services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
    • Oversee company-wide corporate services strategy and execution
    • Oversee recruitment, staff planning, and HR compliance efforts Supervise protocol, office administration, and fleet/logistics
    • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of company facilities
    • Manage stakeholder engagement and maintain the company's public image
    • Ensure policy coherence and synergy between departments
    • Oversee compliance with labor laws and regulations.

    Required Competencies

    • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of human resources management system
    • Ability to appreciate the system impact of various policies, practices and issues strategically and holistically
    • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to plan budgets,
    • Excellent organization and management skills.
    • Strong leadership, supervisory and people management skills

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Law, Economics or related field.
    • Master's Degree in Business Administration and additional advanced training relating to utility management is highly desirable

    Experience

    • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 8+ years in a senior executive role Certifications
    • Membership of relevant professional, governance or management bodies is highly desired.

    Legal Advisor

    Role Purpose

    • Ensures proper monitoring and handling of all aspects of Kaduna Electric's legal affairs, especially the potentially litigious ones in such a manner that the interest of the Company is not jeopardized.
    • The job holder among others functions, will ensure proficient collection and assembling of evidence along with supporting documents in relation to any issues of disputes involving the Company before the Court, NERC Forum or Tribunals.
    • The job holder shall use their best endeavor to ensure speedy resolution of Company's disputes using Alternative Dispute Resolution skills and other less expensive methods to resolve disputes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Organize and coordinate dispute resolution appointments and meetings with aggrieved Customers and litigants
    • Ensure compliance with Company Laws, Regulations and Policies in order to prevent avoidable disputes, and sanctions.
    • Proficient vetting of organizational policies, contracts and MOUs taking into consideration the legal implications and potentially litigious elements thereof.
    • Put measures in place to prevent or manage negative legal fallouts from contracts with third parties.
    • Work in concert with Company's external solicitors to ensure Company's Court cases and NERC Forum disputes are not lost.
    • Attending Court and NERC Forums hearings and sittings.
    • Perform any such other functions as may be assigned by the Head, Legal from time to time

    Required Competencies

    • Legal and corporate advisory knowledge
    • Good litigation knowledge as well as contracts.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft office
    • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to take instructions and carry them out with little supervision.
    • Ability to provide independent advice.
    • Commercial Insight & Problem Solving

    Education

    • LL.B (Hons) degree in Law
    • Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar and have license to practice law in Nigeria.
    • 5 to 10 post call or years of cognate experience
    • A Master's Degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline would be an added advantage

    Experience:

    • 5 to 10 post call or years of cognate experience (Power sector experience preferred).

    Head, Human Resources

    Role Purpose

    • To foster a progressive, equitable, and high-performing corporate culture that supports Kaduna Electric's mission and strategic objectives through structured end to end talent management and employee engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead development and implementation of HR policies and systems
    • Manage organizational development, change management, and succession planning
    • Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, and learning & development
    • Design reward systems and ensure alignment with company strategy
    • Managing the various unions in the organisation
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
    • Analyze HR data to drive evidence-based decisions
    • Develop, implement and promote Kaduna Electric's policies on various human resources management issues as applicable.
    • Operational oversight for Employee and organizational development & Design, Change Management, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Job profiling.
    • Carry out functional human strategy development and implementation."
    • Build Kaduna Electric leadership pipeline and succession planning
    • Work with the Strategy Performance team to collate and analyze all performance-related data for Kaduna Electric to determine how corporate performance can improve.
    • Build a corporate culture that motivates and rewards staff of Kaduna Electric
    • Approve training and capacity building measures for the employees to ensure employees are adequately motivated and developed, to carry out their responsibilities
    • Develop and maintain close working relationships with business and functional heads, and ensure the proactive identification and prompt response to their human capital needs to support their operations.
    • Ensure the continual review and effective deployment of HR strategies and policies, including a competitive compensation and benefits package to develop, motivate and retain the best talent within the company

    Required Competencies

    • Strategic HR management and employee relations expertise
    • Deep knowledge in HR management (Performance Management, Compensation Management, emerging HR Trends, Recruiting Value Chain, etc.)

    Education

    • B.Sc Human Resource Management, Social Sciences or a related field

    • 10+ years of HR experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role (Power sector experience preferred)
    • Certifications: Membership of CIPM, CIPD, SHRM (required).
