    Chief Financial Officer

    Role Summary

    • The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive leadership position responsible for the overall financial strategy, management, and health of Cosgrove Investment Limited.
    • The CFO will drive the company's long-term financial planning, capital structure, fiscal control, and risk management across both its
    • large-scale real estate development and road construction/infrastructure divisions.
    • This role requires extensive experience in financial leadership within the Nigerian construction and infrastructure sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    The CFO's responsibilities are divided into four main strategic areas:

    Financial Strategy & Planning

    • Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of the company's long- term financial strategy, supporting the CEO's vision for growth and market expansion.
    • Capital Management: Determine the optimal capital structure; manage equity and debt funding, including liaising with banks, financial institutions, and potential investors for project financing.
    • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and resource allocation across all departments andprojects  (Real Estate & Infrastructure).
    • Investment Decisions: Provide financial analysis and counsel on major capital expenditures, project feasibility, and M&A opportunities.

    Financial Operations & Project Control

    • Cost Management: Implement robust financial controls and systems to monitor project costs, ensure accurate cost-to-complete reporting, and maximize profitability for complex road and housing projects.
    • Treasury & Cash Flow: Direct the Treasury function, managing working capital, optimizing cash flow, and overseeing foreign exchange risk related to imported construction materials and equipment.
    • Accounting & Reporting: Direct all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local (IFRS/SAS) and international accounting standards. Lead the preparation of all statutory and internal financial reports for the Board and CEO.

    Risk Management & Compliance

    • Financial Risk: Establish and maintain comprehensive risk management policies to protect the company's assets, including credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.
    • Tax Management: Oversee all tax planning, compliance, and reporting (e.g., FIRS, State BIRs), ensuring adherence to VAT, WHT, and Corporate Tax laws across all operating states.
    •  Audit Management: Act as the primary liaison for both internal and external auditors, ensuring timely and clean audits.

    Leadership & Stakeholder Management

    • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams to ensure high performance and strict adherence to best practices.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Present financial performance, strategic issues, and future outlook to the CEO/Board of Directors
    • Systems Implementation: Champion the selection, implementation, and optimization of ERP systems and financial software relevant to the construction industry.

    Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

    Essential Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or Master's degree is highly desirable.
    •  Professional Qualification: Must be a Fellow or Associate of ICAN or ACCA or equivalent.
    •  Experience: A minimum of 15–20 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in senior financial leadership role.
    •  Industry Expertise: Mandatory, significant, and verifiable experience within the road construction, infrastructure, or large-scale real estate development sector in Nigeria, managing multi-project budgets.

    Core Competencies:

    • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage large, high-performing finance teams.
    • Strategic Acumen: Deep understanding of financing structures (both local and international) relevant to infrastructure and property development.
    • Analytical Rigor: Exceptional ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable strategic decisions for executive management.

    Director of Human Capital Management

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking an accomplished Director of Human Capital Management to lead our people strategy and align it with the organization’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic human capital initiatives, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring the effective management of talent across the organisation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement human capital strategies that support the organization’s objectives.
    • Oversee workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning.
    • Design and drive initiatives to improve employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
    • Lead the development of leadership and employee training programs.
    • Ensure the organization is compliant with all labor laws and regulations.

    Legal Officer (Real Estate & Infrastructure)

    Role Summary

    • The Legal Officer will serve as the sole in-house legal counsel, providing expert, timely, and strategic legal advice and support across all operations of Cosgrove Investment Limited, with a primary focus on real estate development and road construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring legal compliance across all Federal and Northern State jurisdictions, mitigating legal risks, safeguarding company assets, and managing external legal relationships.

     Key Responsibilities and Duties

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of legal matters, including:

    Real Estate & Property Law Management

    • Due Diligence & Acquisition: Conducting meticulous legal due diligence and perfecting titles for all land and property acquisitions in FCT and other states.
    • Title Perfection: Managing the entire process for obtaining and perfecting all regulatory approvals, Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O), Deeds of Assignment, and securing necessary registrations at relevant land registries (e.g., AGIS).
    • Documentation: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all real estate transactional documents, including Sales Agreements, Leases, Mortgages, Joint Venture Agreements, and Power of Attorney documents.

    Construction & Contract Law Management

    • Contract Drafting: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating major construction contracts, sub-contracts, supply agreements, and consultancy service agreements for road and civil construction projects, ensuring protection of the company's interests.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Advising the project team on all regulatory compliance matters related to construction and infrastructure projects, liaising with relevant Ministries (e.g., Ministry of Works, Environmental bodies).

    Litigation, Compliance, and Risk Management

    • Litigation Management: Coordinating and overseeing all ongoing litigation, arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) matters, liaising effectively with and managing the performance of external legal counsel across all jurisdictions.
    • Compliance: Ensuring the company is compliant with the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) and all relevant federal and state laws, including taxation, labour, and environmental regulations.
    • Advisory: Providing proactive legal counsel and strategic guidance to the Management and Project teams to identify, mitigate, and manage operational and legal risks.

    Corporate & Administrative

    • Record Keeping: Maintaining a comprehensive, secure, and easily accessible system for all legal documentation, contracts, titles, and corporate filings.
    • Statutory Filings: Assisting the CAO with corporate secretarial functions, including necessary filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

    Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

    Essential Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a reputable university.
    • Professional: Mandatory Call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L).
    • Experience: A minimum of 3–4 years of active post-call experience in legal administration and practice, with demonstrable, hands-on experience in Nigerian Real Estate Law or Road Construction/Infrastructure Law.
    • Jurisdictional Knowledge: Must possess a strong understanding of land administration laws and procedures in the FCT, and other states.

    Core Competencies

    • Legal Drafting: Exceptional legal drafting and interpretation skills.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently as a sole Legal Officer and manage a high-volume workload across multiple locations.
    • Integrity: High level of professional ethics, integrity, and discretion.
