    Business Development Manager

    Job Summary

    • Are you a commercially minded operator who thrives in fast-moving environments? Do you enjoy connecting strategy with execution, and turning big opportunities into scalable playbooks?
    • As Business Development Manager for TRACE, you’ll help unlock high-value trade flows across Africa’s agricultural and mineral markets.
    • This role is ideal for a strong mid-level commercial lead with experience in cross-border trade, commodities, or platform sales—especially in emerging or informal markets.
    • You’ll own partner development, grow revenue, and help define how TRACE delivers compliance, transparency, and trust to global buyers.

    What you will be doing

    • Identify and onboard new buyers, traders, and originators who would benefit from TRACE's traceability and compliance tools
    • Lead client discussions and negotiations from qualification through to close and onboarding
    • Partner with the operations and product teams to ensure clients are supported and retained
    • Own monthly growth targets and deliver predictable pipelines across multiple regions and commodity types
    • Work cross-functionally to define go-to-market strategies and pricing models for traceability services
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor offerings across traceability, ESG compliance, and commodity sourcing
    • Collect and share feedback to influence TRACE product development and platform experience

    Requirements

    Special Skills and Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or trade operations in a commercial environment
    • Experience working in agriculture, minerals, logistics, or compliance-driven industries
    • Proven track record of closing deals and meeting commercial targets
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills; fluent in English
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field

    Global Head, Trace (Solid Minerals and Agricultural Commodities)

    Job Summary

    • Do you lead with precision, scale with intention, and build systems that drive trust and transparency? As Head of Trace, you’ll own one of Sabi’s most strategic product verticals—overseeing strategy, product innovation, customer delivery, and commercialization for our traceability infrastructure across solid minerals and agricultural commodities. You’ll define and deliver the roadmap for Trace, scale its adoption across markets, and lead a multidisciplinary team that turns complexity into clarity for the global commodities trade.

    What you will be doing

    • Lead end-to-end strategy, product development, and delivery for Trace
    • Own and evolve the Trace roadmap to meet regulatory, commercial, and partner requirements across multiple commodity categories
    • Build, lead, and scale a multidisciplinary team across product, compliance, data science, operations, and field delivery
    • Partner with governments, certifying bodies, buyers, and ecosystem stakeholders to define and uphold standards of traceability
    • Design systems and infrastructure that integrate digital identity, geospatial data, quality testing, and audit trailsDrive commercialization of Trace through strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, and integrations
    • Represent Trace at the executive level—externally with partners and policymakers, and internally across the leadership team
    • Define and track key metrics across adoption, performance, and impact—ensuring Trace delivers value to all supply chain actors

     

    Requirements

    Special Skills & Qualification

    • 12-15 years of leadership experience in supply chain, data infrastructure, or digital product roles
    • Domain expertise in traceability or regulatory technology for agriculture, solid minerals, or other commodities
    • Proven ability to build and scale infrastructure across markets with regulatory or certification complexity
    • Experience working with governments, mining associations, agribusinesses, and global sourcing organizations
    • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of monetizing enterprise-facing technology or data products
    • Executive-level communication skills with comfort operating in boardrooms, ministries, and emerging market communities
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or relevant fields is preferred
