    Business Development Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in target markets

    Senior Legal Executive

    Job Summary

    Provide support to the Head, Legal Department, Consultants and Vendors in preparing, revising and finalizing legal documents and contracts. 
    Draft and/or review contracts and legal documents pertaining to the APL's operations, such as agreements, letters, and any other documents pertaining to corporate and commercial transactions, litigation, and conveyancing; 

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Head of Legal in ensuring that the department runs smoothly 
    • Take ownership for the success of Air Peace Limited by effectively communicating with and providing back up support to all unit heads and staff.  
    • Train and supervise Legal Executives and Trainees to ensure that they discharge their duties. 
    • Accurately review, proofread, and assist the Head of Legal with materials, including              documents, reports, memos, briefings, presentations, forms and other items; ensuring accuracy.  
    • Assist with preparing contracts and agreements for review by external solicitors,consultants and vendors.  
    • Must be adept at drafting and reviewing specialized aviation contracts. 
    • Attend meetings and prepare minutes as delegated by the Head of Legal  
    • Ensure supporting materials for meetings and events are prepared accurately and provided promptly.
    • Ensuring that the company is always compliant always with any regulatory body.  
    • Monitor pending court cases involving the company and working in collaboration with external solicitors to ensure that the company’s interests are adequately represented.  
    • Reviewing and analyzing all types of agreements, documents and succinctly isolating issues arising from there  
    • Preparation of all types of agreements and document, as well as vetting and of documents for proffering legal advice.  
    • Dealing with customer’s complaints and ensuring that they are effectively handled and resolved.

    Requirements

    • LL.B, B.L 
    • Highly developed legal and corporate service acumen derived from a period of at least 10years’ post call experience. 
    • High level interpersonal skills which develop productive relationships internally and externally. 
    • Excellent business planning acumen and strategic planning skills 
    • Aviation experience & specialization aviation law firm is an added advantage 
    • Assisting the manager in organizing, planning and implementing strategy  
    • Ensuring departmental policies and procedures are followed, and goals are achieved.  
    • Ability to inspire and motivate the team  
    • Ensuring team members complete tasks timely.

    Legal Executive

    JOB SUMMARY

    • Provide support to the Head, Legal and Cooperate Services, Consultants and Vendors in preparing, revising and finalizing legal documents and contracts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accurately review, proofread and assist the Head, Legal and Cooperate services with any materials, including documents, reports, memos, briefings, presentations, forms and other items ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Properly format and implement styles of legal documents.
    • Assist with producing print-ready documents for review by external solicitors, consultants and vendors.
    • Ensure supporting materials (agendas, signage) for meetings and events are prepared accurately and provided promptly
    • Take ownership for the success of APL wide administrative functions by effectively communicating with and providing back up support to all unit heads and staff.

    Head, Legal Department

    Job Summary

    • He/She is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Legal department, provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.
    • Cultivating productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation trust and respect, value differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    LEGAL RISK:

    • Review and provide legal advice on tender documents.
    • Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly

    ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS:

    • Organize meetings for various Stakeholders, Advisory groups and the Board, providing associated administrative support.
    • Acquaintance with company's structure, Statutes, Domestic Regulations, Strategic Planning, Corporate Visual Identity, and Privacy Policy

    POLICY DEVELOPMENT:

    • Review and advice Management on legal implications of internal/external policies and procedures.
    • Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements

    REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

    • Formulate compliance check-lists to be used for ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.
    • Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.

    CONTRACT NEGOTIATION:

    • Review all contracts or any other documentation where the Company has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the Executive Management's attention. 
    • ​Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities.

    LITIGATION MANAGEMENT:

    • Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external solicitors.

    Requirements

    • LLB/BL degree 
    • A Master's degree will be an added advantage; and at least 15 years work experience in Company law and/or Litigation experience
    • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
    • Excellent relationship management and communication skills are necessary for interaction with the Government of Nigeria, regulatory authorities, the judicial system and negotiating parties.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration, particularly contract negotiation, preparation and administration.
    • Ability to provide independent advice (verbally and in writing) to senior level management on highly technical matters.
    • Demonstrate success in managing and conducting a variety of litigation matters;
    • Good planning and organization skills.
    • Proven ability to solve sensitive matters delicately
