    Business Development Manager - Advisory

    Role Summary

    • To strengthen its deal origination pipeline and expand its market presence, Sage Grey Finance Limited seeks to engage a Business Development Manager (“BDM”) responsible for identifying, developing, and securing viable transactions, projects, and strategic business opportunities for the company.
    • The primary purpose of the role is to originate bankable transactions and projects, develop strategic relationships with clients and stakeholders, expand the company’s deal pipeline and support revenue growth through successful business acquisition and transaction execution.

    Key Responsibilities
    Deal Origination & Business Development:

    • Identify and originate viable transactions and projects for the company.
    • Source opportunities across sectors including infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, oil & gas, telecoms, technology, real estate, agribusiness, financial services, and other strategic sectors.
    • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients, projects, and transactions.
    • Initiate and maintain relationships with corporates, project sponsors, financial institutions, investors, government agencies, DFIs, and strategic partners.
    • Lead business development initiatives aimed at increasing transaction volumes and company revenue.
    • Identify opportunities for financial advisory, capital raising, project finance, debt syndication, mergers & acquisitions and related mandates.

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    • Conduct meetings, presentations and negotiations with prospective and existing clients.
    • Serve as the primary relationship contact for assigned clients and opportunities.
    • Maintain regular engagement with key market participants and industry stakeholders.

    Market Intelligence & Strategy:

    • Monitor market trends, sector developments and emerging investment opportunities.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to management on market positioning and business expansion.
    • Maintain awareness of regulatory, financial and economic developments relevant to the company’s operations

    Partnerships & Network Development:

    • Develop strategic alliances with banks, investors, DFIs, private equity firms, law firms, consultants and industry operators.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, networking sessions and business forums.
    • Promote the company’s brand and service offerings within the market.

    Reporting & Performance Management:

    • Prepare periodic business development reports and pipeline updates.
    • Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, meetings and transaction status.
    • Track and report on business development targets and KPIs.
    • Provide daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to management on activities and achievements.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Banking & Finance or related disciplines.
    • Strong network within corporate, banking, investment and business communities.
    • Strong understanding of financial markets, project finance and advisory services
    • 5–8 years relevant experience in business development, investment banking, corporate finance, financial advisory, project finance or related fields.
    • Demonstrated experience in transaction origination and client relationship management.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify business opportunities.
    • Ability to work independently and deliver under pressure.

    Relationship Officer for Digital Products

    Role Summary

    • The Relationship Officer for Digital Products supports the Company’s digital business by assisting with customer onboarding, documentation, and reporting across lending and deposit products.
    • The role focuses on helping originate and process digital loan and deposit applications, ensuring accurate customer records, and preparing regular reports on pipeline activities and product performance.
    • By focusing on operational execution and customer engagement support, the position contributes to the growth of the Company’s digital lending and deposit business while enhancing acquisition efficiency, conversion, and overall customer experience.

    Key Responsibilities
    The Relationship Officershall be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
    Digital Products (Lending):

    • Support digital lead generation, customer acquisition, and onboarding activities across the Company’s digital lending products.
    • Assist prospective and existing customers through the loan application and onboarding process by providing guidance on product requirements, documentation, and submission procedures.
    • Follow up on client enquiries and ensure prompt responses to digital loan requests.
    • Maintain an updated loan pipeline tracker with status of prospects, applications, and conversions.
    • Assist in preparing draft loan proposals, quotations, and supporting documents.
    • Monitor repayment behavior and escalate potential risks to senior Relationship Managers.
    • Prepare weekly reports on loan acquisition activities and pipeline progress.

    Digital Products (Deposits & Investment):

    • Support customer acquisition and onboarding activities for the Company’s digital savings, investment, and deposit products across retail and SME segments.
    • Assist customers with account opening, KYC documentation, product activation, and general onboarding processes.
    • Maintain a deposit tracker to monitor inflows, customer activity, and product usage.
    • Follow up on deposit enquiries and ensure timely responses to customer requests.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on deposit mobilization and customer engagement.
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell savings, cards, overdrafts, and bundled offerings to digital customers.
    • Track customer engagement trends and highlight service gaps for improvement.

    Documentation & Compliance:

    • Ensure customer and transaction records are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure full KYC/AML checks and policy adherence.
    • Prepare periodic portfolio performance reports and analysis for management review.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory developments, macroeconomic shifts, and industry best practices in credit analysis.

    Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:

    • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and customer outreach activities.
    • Support digital marketing initiatives and customer onboarding strategies.
    • Assist in preparing presentations and conducting meetings with clients regarding digital products.
    • Maintain an updated client database and business opportunity tracker.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on portfolio performance and customer insights.
    • Support initiatives aimed at improving customer experience and digital service offerings.
    • Stay informed on emerging trends in digital banking and report opportunities to management.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
    • 2–4 years of experience in digital banking, credit sales or business development within a financial institution.
    • Working knowledge of electronic banking products, digital lending platforms, and credit processes.
    • Basic understanding of financial analysis, customer relationship management, and sales techniques.
    • Familiarity with lending and deposit products within the Nigerian financial services industry.
