Job Description:

•  We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager/Officer  Engineering to join our team in Sagamu. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge and handson experience in engineering and maintenance operations within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
• Manage the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, including:
  • Siemens PLC and drives
  • Motors (AC/DC/SEMO)
  • Cranes and forklifts
  • Sensors (temperature, pressure, encoding, and various types)
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Heating elements and other industrial machinery
• Develop, execute, and document daily maintenance plans.
• Oversee team management and ensure proper delegation of maintenance tasks.
• Implement and monitor breakdown maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLCs, drives, motors, heaters, and other critical components.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12-15 years of experience in engineering roles within the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC, industrial drives, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Proven team management and leadership skills.

• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliabilityMonitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Requirements and skills

• Proven hands-on experience
• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
• University degree in Computer Science or a related subject

Key responsibilities

• Carryout daily periodic on line inspection of the Mills at least twice in a shift
• Conduct weekly mills cleanliness inspection visit to the maize mill.
• Analyse raw materials and buying samples and keep all the records properly for further decision making
• Analyze in - process control samples and finished products and send to the Millers
• Report and record all analytical results when heading a shift
• Analyze complaint samples and competitors’ samples and record the results alert the Quality Assurance Manager on discovery of poor quality consignment while analyzing.
• Periodically cross check the results of analysis carried out to make sure they are consistent and reliable to maintain credibility
• Periodic maintenance and calibration of Laboratory equipment

Qualifications

• Degree or HND holder in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science & Technology or Laboratory Science Technology with at least 3 years of experience in a maize or wheat milling industry.
• Have knowledge of applicable Legislation as well as Procedures
• Process Audit Knowledge
• Integrated Pest Management Knowledge
• Analysis carried must be accurate and Precise
• Accreditation to Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology, Chemical Society of Nigeria etc

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the hot metal crane during production and maintenance activities.
• Transport hot metal for operations as required.
• Empty ladles after processing and coordinate operations with the melt shop team.
• Cross-train other team members in the hot metal crane operator position.
• Operate a cabcontrolled overhead crane in a high temperature environment around molten steel and slag.
• Maintain and promote a strong culture of safety, adhering to safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Uphold housekeeping standards within the workspace.
• Monitor machine functionality during operation and downtime, identifying irregularities and notifying the Manager/Incharge for corrective actions.
• Record operational details in logbooks and checklists.
• Advise management on the potential hazards of continued equipment operation when necessary.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques.
• OND/HND in mechanical or related fields is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
