    Architect

    Job Description

    • We are currently seeking an Architect, experienced in manufacturing industry, who will support our experienced team in Nigeria. HaskoningDHV Nigeria Ltd is a very successful engineering & advisory group with a broad range of customers in consumer goods, pharma, energy and manufacturing industry.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the overall plan and design of architectural drawings.
    • Ability to design, plan, and supervise the construction of buildings with responsibility for its safety, usefulness, and aesthetics.
    • Ability to design structures that satisfy clients' needs while conforming to the laws and regulations of Nigeria.
    • Ability to create preliminary sketches of building structures including inside appearance, using computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) software.
    • Ability to prepare more detailed plans showing all building components including internal and external services using computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) software.
    • Ability to oversee and approve construction works as it progresses.
    • Extensive knowledge of design and construction coupled with creative ability
    • Plan layout of project
    • Ability to prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, and equipment estimated costs, and construction time.
    • Consult with Client to determine functional and spatial requirements of structure
    • Direct activities of engineers and junior architects engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents
    • Knowledge and ability to work with International standards
    • Experience in supervision under FIDIC or comparable works contracts
    • Supervising finishing works, such as painting, tiling, partitioning. etc.
    • Specific experience with Industrial projects (factories, warehouses, distribution halls and related).
    • Experience with Master planning
    • Experience with sustainable design and proven technology solutions
    • Extensive knowledge of materials

    Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Architectural discipline
    • Experience level: Minimum of 10 years experience.
    • Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD 3D, etc.
    • The role requires frequent interaction with different levels of professionals and stakeholders on a high profile project, therefore the candidate must have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication abilities.
    • Member of the Architect Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) will be an added advantage

    Construction Manager

    Job Description

    • As a Construction Manager, you are expected to deliver total success to allocated projects in green- and brown-field manufacturing environments.
    • You will be leading and managing multidisciplinary (site) teams and act as the single point of contact to the client and the stakeholders.
    • Construction Management of industrial buildings (FMCG / F&B).

    Main Responsibilities

    • Scope, Time, Cost, Risk, Quality and Procurement Management.
    • In charge of the construction management team during the execution phase.
    • Chair regular coordination of technical meetings with the design & engineering team and also the contractors and other involved parties.
    • Prepare construction schedules, and closely monitor the progress achieved. Interface management (Civil / MEP / Equipment) is considered as an important responsibility of the Construction Manager.
    • Inspection and review of all (shop) drawings.
    • Review, monitor and advise the client on variation orders by contractors and do the appropriate technical and financial negotiations on behalf of the client.
    • Preparation of Contract Documents, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and supervision activities
    • Liaise with all levels of clients, local authorities, contractors and specialist consultants on administrative and technical subjects
    • Providing sound engineering judgement and advice.
    • Writing technical and financial proposals.

    Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Civil / Structural / Mechanical)
    • 10-15 years experience in construction management and coordination (interface management) related roles within complex projects.
    • Industrial oriented projects (factories, warehouses, and comparable) for Multinational clients.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, MS Project, presentation abilities, AUTOCAD.

    Senior Mechanical Engineer (Data Centres)

    Responsibilities
    What you will do as a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Data Centres):

    • Mechanical engineering and design during all project phases according to client, national and international standards.
    • Assess client/ project mechanical engineering requirements.
    • Prepare concept design and objectively evaluate, both technically and commercially, different options based upon project objectives/requirements.
    • Review and check designs and sign off drawings generated for Buildings, cleanrooms and Industrial type projects as and when required.
    • Provide professional construction monitoring services related to mechanical systems including HVAC, fire, wet services, drainage, lifts, steam, medical gas and Oxygen.
    • Provide guidance to the mechanical teams as and when required with respect to Buildings projects.
    • Mentor junior engineers.
    • Management of multi-disciplinary projects from inception to close out.
    • Liaison with and within a multi-disciplinary project team setting and with external stakeholders.
    • Cost estimation of mechanical engineering scope of work, including equipment and construction costs.
    • Preparation and management of specifications, schedules, estimates, progress reports, meeting agenda's and minutes, and procurement issues.
    • Budgetary and financial responsibility for projects.
    • Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system.
    • Manage quality assurance by ensuring that contractors meet client requirements.
    • Ensure that the works by the contractor adhere to the project design and specifications.
    • Ensure that work is done in accordance with acceptable standards of both RHDHV and that of clients.
    • Delivering quality for repeat work.
    • Business Development and Client Liaison, targeting sales with key targets/outputs, i.e. private sector and good networks.
    • Assist with proposals, expressions of interest and tendering.
    • Drive the Digital Way of Working (DWoW) in line with international practices.
    • Collaborate with local and international teams.

    Requirements
    What you bring:

    • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in cleanrooms and mechanical design
    • Professional registration with COREN essential
    • Project Management qualification and professional registration advantageous (PMP, PMI)
    • Extensive experience in cleanrooms mechanical design and Industrial mechanical design.
    • Extensive experience on buildings, industrial and cleanrooms type projects.
    • Experience working within a team environment – particularly closely with BIM resources
    • Solid fundamental knowledge and experience in the application of the methodologies and processes as described in PMBOK.
    • Previous track record in successfully generating new business would be advantageous.
    • An intimate knowledge of local standards and codes.
    • Be able to develop engineering documentation from first principles.
    • Be able to work within a disciplined engineering environment.
    • An intimate working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access and Microsoft Project. (Advantage will be knowledge of BIM & Auto CAD)
    • Experience with local Municipalities & DPW processes and systems would be advantageous
    • Experience with Private Clients in terms of understating the Client’s SOW and deliverables
    • Be well acquainted with local equipment, manufacturers, suppliers and installation contractors.
    • A thorough knowledge of the OHS Act, pertinent SANS and IEC codes and standards and industry practices.
    • An awareness and appreciation for health, safety and environmental issues.
    • Experience with and supports Digital Way and Working, e.g. BIM22, Revit, CDE, and other platforms.
    • Ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders at all levels.

    What you will do as Design Manager (Data Centres)

    • As Design Manager you must prove yourself to some of the most demanding customers in the world and work pro-actively with our colleagues across the globe. Beyond the standard features of a building, our Mission Critical Facility (Data Centre) projects require specific and advanced knowledge and skills. What our clients have in common, is the need for a proactive Design Manager.
    • You will assume overall responsibility for the management and execution of MCF/data centre projects within the Industry, Energy and Asset Management Advisory Group.
    • You will be tasked with managing designs and delivering high quality results within multidisciplinary project teams consisting of data centre system consultants, architects and engineers. The responsibilities will include working closely with clients and other key stakeholders to deliver optimal results and implement our vision to be the "World's leading Data Centre Consultant".
    • You will be responsible for managing and leading multidisciplinary design assignments covering specialised data centre disciplines including, but not limited to, cooling, security and safety systems, low voltage systems and UPS. 
    • The position will be responsible for managing the following deliverables of various disciplines:
      • Take responsibility for the technical delivery of the project.
      • Provide input into the development of technical and commercial proposals.
      • Manage Client relationships and grow the data centre portfolio with new and diverse clients.
      • Seek to integrate other leading services into the offering for data centres, for instance, energy transition.
      • Lead specialist engineers / designers etc. from a technical perspective.
      • Deliver project documents, specifications and designs, ensuring the quality and flow of information for the client and their agents.
      • Provide guidance to the bid manager in the preparation of tenders.
      • Act as the key customer liaison and represent RHDHV in discussions with the Client regarding technical matters.
    • The multidisciplinary project teams you will join work on projects both at home and abroad. In addition to participating in projects, you naturally also contribute to the optimization of our internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within your field.     • Master's Degree advantageous
    • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant post graduate experience within a consulting engineering environment.
    • A minimum of five years relevant working experience in a data centre design engineering / project delivery environment
    • Professional registration with COREN is advantageous
    • Data Centre Tier Designer Accreditation is advantageous
    • Professional Project Manager (PMP) advantageous
    • Solid knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
    • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams is essential
    • Data centre / mission critical facilities experience is essential
    • BIM experience and a minimum of 3 years’ experience using BIM authoring tools, i.e. Revit
    • BIM360, Revizto, Dynamo and Python experience is advantageous
