    Key Responsibilities

    • Content Management & Editing: Reviewing, editing, and curating news, features, and multimedia content in Hausa, ensuring accuracy, high journalistic standards, and adherence to company values.
    • Content Strategy & Planning: Creating content (both news and long-form) and setting the editorial agenda, including planning stories.
    • Digital Transformation: Driving digital adoption, including managing content for the Aminiya online platforms to increase digital footprint and audience engagement.
    • Mentorship and Supervision: Supervising reporters, sub-editors, and contributors to ensure the production of quality content.
    • Quality Control: Ensuring that all content meets the high standards of accuracy, ethical, and stylistic guidelines.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Hausa language, or a related field.
    • Fluency in Hausa (written and spoken) is essential.
    • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian media landscape.
    • Exceptional command of the Hausa language.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of journalism experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically as a sub-editor.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer usage and familiarity with digital publishing tools/CMS.

    Head, Audio Visual

    Summary

    • We are seeking an ideal candidate to lead our Audio Visual team, who acts as the technical architect of a content factory, ensuring that a single story can be simultaneously packaged for TV, radio, digital, and social platforms.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the allocation of central resources—such as camera crews, mobile journalism (MoJo) kits, and edit suites to support multiple platforms from a single source.
    • Manage the “Superdesk” technical infrastructure, ensuring unified content management systems (CMS) allow editors to see the full multimedia picture in real time.
    • Lead the production of “story-centric” content where a single report is formatted as a TV package, a radio bulletin, and a social media clip simultaneously.
    • Direct live newscasts and multi-platform broadcasts, ensuring smooth technical execution across web and traditional airwaves.
    • Maintain quality control for all visual and audio designs, including on-air graphics and digital assets.
    • Design and maintain a unified technology stack that supports non-linear workflows, reducing asset duplication and “copy-pasting” between departments.
    • Implement and upgrade newsroom software for video switching, audio mixing, and live streaming (e.g., WebEx, Livestream, BlackMagic ATEM).
    • Stay ahead of emerging trends such as AI integration, video-first podcasting, and emerging distribution platforms.

    • Ensure “breaking news” is updated on all our platforms immediately while simultaneously preparing depth-driven packages for linear broadcast.
    • Assign “story owners” to oversee the lifecycle of a report from the first tip-off to the final evening broadcast/social media wrap-up.
    • Planning, developing, and selecting stories for publication based on audience interests and breaking news.
    • Verifying the accuracy of stories and checking sources to avoid legal issues like libel or copyright infringement.
    • Ensuring all content adheres to ethical guidelines, maintaining objectivity, and accuracy.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of editorial leadership experience in a reputable newsroom, with a proven track record in cross-platform newsgathering.
    • Exceptional news judgment, the ability to make decisive calls under tight deadlines, and strong interpersonal communication
