Job Description

• As an Admissions Counselor, you are the trusted guide for students and their families on the complex journey to international university admission.
• Your main goal is to manage a dedicated portfolio of students, providing expert and empathetic guidance to ensure their successful admission into "best fit" universities.
• You are a coach, strategist, and project manager who builds strong relationships and helps students craft applications that truly reflect their potential.

Responsibilities

• Student Counseling: Conduct in-depth consultations with students and parents to understand their academic profile, aspirations, and financial considerations, creating a tailored 'best-fit' university list.
• Application Management: Develop and manage detailed application timelines for each student, ensuring all deadlines are met for essays, tests, recommendations, and forms.
• Essay & Personal Statement Coaching: Provide expert coaching and feedback on personal statements and supplemental essays, helping students find their voice and tell their story compellingly without writing it for them.
• Interview Preparation: Conduct mock interviews and provide constructive feedback to prepare students for university admissions interviews.
• Communication: Maintain proactive and clear communication with your portfolio of students and parents, providing regular updates and being their go-to resource for all application-related questions.
• Primary Focus: Student Guidance & Application Execution

Performance Measurements

• Main Goal: To guide a portfolio of students to successful admission into "best fit" universities.
• Success Metrics: High success rate of personal client portfolio, quality of university placements, individual client satisfaction scores.
• KPI (The Lag Measure): Personal Client Acceptance Rate (%)
• Lead Measures (The Actions):
  • Number of student/parent check-in meetings conducted per week.
  • Average essay draft review turnaround time (in hours).
• Tracking Frequency: Weekly.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Ideal Experience: 3-5 years of direct experience counseling students for international university applications to the UK, US, and/or Canada.
• Key Skills: Student Counseling & Mentoring, Exceptional Essay Editing & Coaching, Deep Knowledge of Application Platforms (Common App, UCAS), Empathy & Interpersonal Skills, Time Management & Organization.

Job Overview

• We are in need of an experienced English Tutor who preps students on SAT and IELTS examinations.
• This is a part time role with a per class payment structure.

Requirements

• Proven record of prepping students for SAT and IELTS exams with a high success rate.
• Close proximity to Ikate Lekki is a must.
