    Administrative Assistant

    Job Summary

    • The Administrative Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the State Coordinator and will provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the state office.
    • The role includes office management, logistics and accommodation arrangements for staff, management, and consultants, as well as administrative support to project design and implementation within the state.

    Major Roles and Responsibilities

    • Support recruitment and performance appraisal processes
    • Prepare, document, and disseminate minutes and reports of staff technical and management meetings
    • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of office facilities
    • Source grant opportunities online and support proposal development processes
    • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for staff, management, and consultants
    • Track staff attendance and movement using approved registers
    • Develop monthly tracking sheets on staff punctuality and lateness
    • Facilitate logistics arrangements for meetings, trainings, and workshops
    • Manage office telephone lines and maintain records of correspondence
    • Receive, document, and track deliveries from vendors and service providers
    • Perform any other duties assigned to support effective team performance.

    Required Qualification and Experience

    • B.Sc / HND Business Administration or related field of studies
    • At least 2 years work experience, 1 of which must be professional experience in administrative roles
    • Proven ability to provide high level of support to management team.

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
    • Capacity to influence, facilitate change, and build internal capacity

    State Coordinator

    Position Summary

    • The State Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, coordination, and representation for Global Peace Development in Benue State.
    • The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of projects, ensuring they align with GPD’s strategic objectives.
    • This role will also support resource mobilization efforts and strengthen strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, civil society organizations, partners, and beneficiary communities.
    • Importantly, the ideal candidate must possess strong program management skills, the ability to lead and supervise project teams, and a deep understanding of GPD’s core thematic areas in the State.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of GPD projects in the State
    • Lead resource mobilization efforts in the state
    • Ensure project activities and financial reporting are delivered on time, within budget, and meet donor reporting standard standards.
    • Supervise state project teams and provide technical support to ensure effective program delivery.
    • Serve as GPD’s focal point in Adamawa State, representing the organization in meetings, workshops and trainings, forums, and with relevant agencies in the state.
    • Build and maintain strong networks and partnerships with key local stakeholders.
    • Work with the MEAL team to ensure project outcomes are tracked, documented, and reported appropriately in line with donor and partners requirement.
    • Prepare and ensure timely progress reports submission, success stories, and other documentation to donors and partners.
    • Ensure staff compliance to the organization policies
    • Ensure all operations, procurement, and program activities are conducted in line with GPD’s policies and donor requirements.

    Education and Professional Qualifications

    • Minimum of BSc / HND in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Public Health, or a related field (a Master’s Degree is an added advantage)
    • At least 3 years of experience in project implementation, coordination, or management within the development sector.
    • Strong experience working in Adamawa State or similar contexts.
    • Demonstrated capacity to lead teams, manage donor funded projects, and engage government and community stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Gender and Peace Building Officer

    Job Summary

    • The primary purpose of this role is to support the Programme Manager, Gender and Peacebuilding, in designing and implementing gender and peacebuilding initiatives across GPD’s operational states.
    • The Officer will play a key role in promoting gender equality within peacebuilding efforts by collaborating with stakeholders to develop strategies and implement programs that foster inclusivity, equity, and sustainable peace at the state level.

    Description of Work

    • Work closely with Program Manager, Gender and Peacebuilding to support
    • Project design and proposal development
    • Support development of project specific work plans and results framework
    • Conduct desk review of gender and security issues in the state including development of context briefing notes
    • Search and flag-up call for proposals on gender, security and Peacebuilding
    • Support monitoring and evaluation staff on development of project indicators and data collection tools
    • Provide technical support on mainstreaming gender and social inclusion into program activities

    Required Qualification and Experience

    • Education: B.Sc in Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, Gender/Women Studies, International Development, or related social science field is required
    • Proven experience (4 years) in implementing gender-focused projects within peace-building, preferably in a national or international organization.
    • Strong understanding of gender dynamics, intersectionality, and human rights frameworks.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proficiency in project management, monitoring, and evaluation methodologies.
    • Commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusion, and social justice.
    • Experience in the area of gender mainstreaming and peacebuilding is an asset
    • Experience in Protection/Gender-Based Violence tracking, referral and response is required
    • Experience in donor reporting and capacity building is an asset
