Job Summary:

• Our Client, an Architectural Firm, is seeking an Accountant to join their team. They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their company and handle all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and information.
• Manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
• Handle invoicing, payments, and collections to maintain efficient cash management.
• Support management with financial insights and recommendations.
• Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Additional certification (such as ICAN) is a plus
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the distribution or logistics industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to our firm’s mission and project needs.
• Develop and manage the grant proposal process, including writing, editing, and submitting proposals.
• Maintain a comprehensive calendar of deadlines for grant applications and reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for grant applications.
• Monitor and manage grant-funded projects to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Prepare and submit reports on grant progress to funding bodies.
• Foster and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in grant writing and management, preferably in the agricultural or environmental sector.
• Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Familiarity with funding sources, including government agencies, NGOs, and private foundations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
