    Accountant

    Responsibilities
    Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Preparing and analyzing financial statements: This includes income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, providing a clear picture of the hotel's financial performance.
    • Producing accurate month-end accounts: Comparing results to forecasts and previous periods to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Creating detailed financial reports: Providing senior management with comprehensive information for decision-making.
    • Analyzing accounts and business plans: Evaluating financial data to identify trends, patterns, and areas where the hotel can optimize its performance.
    • Reconciling balance sheet accounts: Ensuring accuracy and consistency across different financial records.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assisting in the development and monitoring of the hotel's annual budget:Ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
    • Creating and maintaining financial forecasts:Providing insights for planning and strategic decision-making.
    • Assisting in developing pricing strategies:Analyzing costs and revenue to optimize pricing for rooms and other services.

    Financial Management:

    • Managing accounts payable and receivable:Overseeing invoice processing, payment schedules, and collection efforts.
    • Managing payroll:Ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees, including handling deductions and taxes.
    • Reconciling bank statements:Matching bank records with internal accounting records to identify discrepancies.
    • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations:Adhering to tax laws, accounting standards, and internal policies.
    • Tracking revenue and expenses:Maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions.
    • Maintaining financial records and transactions:Ensuring proper documentation and organization of financial data.
    • Conducting financial audits:Evaluating internal controls and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Providing financial advice to management:Supporting decision-making with financial insights and expertise.
    • Monitoring financial performance:Identifying areas where the hotel can improve its financial health.
    • Developing and maintaining sound financial practices:Implementing best practices to ensure financial stability and efficiency.
    • Assisting with tax planning:Providing guidance on tax-related matters and ensuring compliance with tax laws

    Maintenance Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Troubleshooting and Repairing: Identifying and resolving issues with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and other hotel equipment.
    • Preventative Maintenance: Performing scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.
    • Guest Room Maintenance: Addressing issues reported by guests, such as broken furniture, malfunctioning appliances, or plumbing problems.
    • Fixture and Appliance Installation: Installing new fixtures, appliances, and other items as needed.
    • Painting and Finishing: Maintaining the interior and exterior appearance of the hotel through painting, patching, and other finishing tasks.
    • Grounds Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel grounds, including landscaping and snow removal (if applicable).

    Safety and Security:

    • Safety Inspections:Conducting regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
    • Emergency Response:Responding promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages, leaks, or structural damage.
    • Compliance with Regulations:Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and building codes.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Record Keeping: Maintaining records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
    • Inventory Management: Managing the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
    • Guest Communication: Interacting with guests to address maintenance concerns and provide excellent service.
    • Collaboration: Working with other hotel staff, including housekeeping, front desk, and management, to ensure smooth operations.
    • Supervision (for some roles): Overseeing the work of other maintenance staff and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.

    Requirements

    • Interested candidates should possess an NCE / OND qualification with 2-5 years work experience.
