    Account Officer II

    Description

    • The Account Officer reports to the Head of Admin/Finance & responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organisation by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
    • The role provides critical support in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting to aid effective decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Record Keeping & Reporting:

    • Prepare, record, and reconcile financial transactions in line with accounting standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and bank reconciliations.
    • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

    Accounts Payable & Receivable:

    • Support statutory filings (taxes, pensions, PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.) and ensure compliance.
    • Process invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
    • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up for timely payments.
    • Ensure prompt and accurate vendor and supplier payments.
    • Manage petty cash and reimbursements in line with company policy.

    Budgeting & Cash Flow Management:

    • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Monitor actual spend against budget and report variances.
    • Track cash flow and ensure funds availability for operations.
    • Liaise with banks to ensure smooth execution of financial transactions.

    Audit & Compliance:

    • Support both internal and external audit processes.
    • Ensure all accounting records and reports meet audit and compliance standards.
    • Maintain confidentiality of financial data and company records.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
    • % of successful and timely reconciliations completed.
    • Compliance level with tax and statutory obligations.
    • Accuracy in payment processing and vendor satisfaction.
    • Efficiency in budget monitoring and variance reporting.

    Job Requirements

    • HND, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
    • Minimum 2 - 4 years experience in accounting or finance roles.
    • Experience with financial reporting, audits, and statutory compliance.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
    • Financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
    • Good understanding of tax laws and statutory compliance.
    • Integrity and high ethical standards.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • Professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Between age 30 - 45 years Old Strictly.
    • Proximity to living in Obalende, Lekki & Victoria Island Lagos, an advantage.

    Head of Finance & Admin

    Responsibilities
    Financial Strategy & Leadership:

    • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
    • Drive financial planning, forecasting, and long-term investment analysis.

    Budgeting & Reporting:

    • Lead the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and management reports.
    • Monitor cash flow, fund utilization, and working capital.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

    Investment & Fund Management:

    • Oversee investment analysis for real estate projects and funding opportunities.
    • Manage investor relations and develop strategies for raising capital (debt/equity).
    • Conduct risk assessment for projects and financing structures.
    • Structure and negotiate funding deals, joint ventures, and investor partnerships.

    Real Estate Finance & Asset Management:

    • Evaluate project feasibility and return on investment (ROI).
    • Collaborate with development, sales, and legal teams on property acquisition, financing, and disposition.
    • Oversee valuation, pricing strategy, and market trend analysis.

    Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and financial regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
    • Lead internal controls and corporate governance practices.

    Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and develop the finance, accounting, and investment teams.
    • Build capacity within the finance department for strategic support and innovation.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or ICAN/ACCA preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial leadership roles
    • Strong knowledge of real estate finance, capital markets, and investment structuring.
    • Proven track record in fundraising, investor relations, and capital deployment.
    • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
