  • About GEC Petroleum Development Company Limited (GPDC)
  • GEC Petroleum Development Company Limited (GPDC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Energy Company (GEC) that was established by Joe Obiago in 1991 to deliver services to the oil and gas sector in West Africa.

Within a few years GEC established a niche for the delivery of unique technology solutions to multinational clients. See our milestones here.

GPDC is the asset owner of a diverse portfolio of Oil & Gas assets in the Niger Delta and Anambra basin of Nigeria. There are 5 blocks (3 onshore & 2 offshore) and one marginal field licensed to GPDC and her partners.

GPDC is emerging as a major domestic gas player with an aggressive drive for placement gas supply solutions to integrated power plants, mini-fertilizer facilities, LPG recovery plants and other CH4 businesses related to domestic gas markets in Nigeria. A refined petroleum products trading line is included in our portfolio. In the next five years, GPDC plans to build a minimum of 250 mmbo reserves base with a guaranteed production of at least 50,000 barrels per day. Similarly, a net gas reserve base of 3tcf and a 200 mmscfd production is targeted. Current development projects to achieve these targets include:

3D seismic campaign commencing in Q4 ’08 in the Anambra Basin (OPLs 907/917) and OPL 135 (jointly with ENI)
Integrated subsurface studies for OPLs 2009/2010 commencing Q4’08 to achieve an early production system offshore Nigeria within the next twenty four months
