Perform periodic evaluations for the Drilling Supervisors, Drilling Engineers and Drilling Technicians.
Monitor drilling expenditures on a daily basis with the goal of drilling the most cost effective wells possible.
Review equipment planning with Drilling Engineer, Drilling Supervisors and the Material & Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely equipment arrivals and to eliminate equipment overstocking.
Coordinate with the Drilling Engineer, Material & Logistics Coordinator & Drilling supervisors the timely arrival of drilling equipment and services on wellsite.
Ensure that wells are drilled and completed in a manner that meets the objectives of the Reservoir, Production, and Geological departments.
Encourage and support HSE training and implementation of new procedures and guidelines. Attend the bi-weekly safety meeting in the field.
Prepare monthly drilling operations reports
Technical review of all drilling programs and final well reports.
Perform wellsite inspections to ensure that safety programs are conducted and monitored by the drilling contractors in a manner consistent with HSE policies in conjunction with the Senior Drilling Supervisors’ site specific HSE plan.
Ensure that well platforms are constructed to specifications, in a time and cost effective manner.
Liases with subsurface geology and production teams on sub-surface activities
Define phase activities (well design and drilling programme), including casing design, well trajectories development, BHA design (including drill stem hydraulics optimization and hole cleaning analysis).
Execution phase suppport - Well operations monitoring, operations optimisation (inluding drill stem hydraulics optimisation, hole cleaning analysis, torque and drag analysis). Post well reviews capturing lessons for implementation on future/subsequent wells, among others.
Supervising the day-to-day activities and monitoring of the rig drilling & completion operations.
Budget preparation to obtain approval for funds for for-casted projects (Drilling Year Plan).
Initiate Guidelines & Procedures for daily field operations.
Responsibilities includes overseeing drilling operation, well engineering, design & planning, cost monitoring & budget, procuring services & equipment, Technical & Commercial evaluation of Tender’s. Supervise T & C tender evaluation & contracting procedures for JV Operations.
Supervise Team of Drilling & Completion Engineer’s to deliver set target’s for the year.
Use of Latest Rotary Steerable & LWD Technology on wells ranging 9000ft-11,000ft TVD with over 1000ft lateral pay.
Complete both dual & single concentric well bores, slotted liners, open hole completions.
Review daily reports and ensure that work is carried out as per program and safely.
Visit rig once a month to ensure that crew adhere to HSE procedures.
Ensure that well control equipment installation, maintenance and standard are the same across all rigs.
Carried out audit of well control procedures and practices and ensure that equipment’s meet Company specifications.
Involved in the design of wells and monitor the day-to-day drilling operations, involved in well control equipment standardization.
