Warehouse & QC Manager (Jos) at Oasis Africa Consulting

The successful candidate will oversee the warehouse, manage quality control processes, and ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies. This role involves inspecting materials, managing inventory, and collaborating with other departments to maintain a high standard of quality and safety. Must maintain a clean and organized working environment.

• Organize warehouse space, scheduling labor, managing inventory and fulfilling orders.
• Keeping accurate records of stored items, including location and quantity. Environment Control: Maintaining proper conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) for specific products. Security: Ensuring stored goods are protected from theft, damage, and deterioration.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and processes for incoming materials, stored materials, and outgoing shipments. 
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify material quality and compliance with specifications. 
• Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
• Manage a warehouse quality control system, including documentation, records, and reporting. 
• Identify and address quality issues, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.
• Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.
• Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping materials. 
• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage warehouse space effectively. 
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or degradation. 
• Oversee the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to relevant industry regulations and safety standards. 
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of quality control activities and warehouse operations. 
• Provide documentation and records as required for audits and regulatory inspections.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market analysis, and competitor activity to inform commercial strategies
• Replenishment: Moving products from bulk storage to picking locations as needed
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Train and mentor warehouse staff on quality control procedures and safety practices.

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate with suppliers, purchasing, and other departments to ensure quality control and material management. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement process improvements. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, materials science, supply chain management) or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles, procedures, and standards.
• Proficiency in relevant software and systems (e.g., warehouse management systems, quality control software
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in warehouse/quality control roles within the mining industry, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and business growth.

Experience of:

• Strong understanding of the mining industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and commercial best practices
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, or logistics, with a focus on quality control and warehouse management.
• Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, Office Outlook.
