    Product Designer (30-60 Days)

    About the Product

Q is a cross-platform time-tracking app. It lets people start, stop and save time logs, then review and share their tracked time. The product runs on the web, Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It includes an admin dashboard for managing users and tracking growth.

    The Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer for a focused 30–60 day contract with the option of possible extension if need be. You will design the complete user experience across all five platforms and the Admin dashboard, and build a design system that keeps every platform consistent. You will own the design from flows to developer-ready handoff.

    What You will Work On

    1. Onboarding and account
      • Sign up and log in with Email, Google, Facebook and Apple
      • Password reset for email accounts, change password, and log out
      • Profile settings, including adding, changing or removing an account picture
    2. Core time tracking
      • Home page experience
      • Start, stop and save a timer, with clear running and stopped states
    3. Time logs and sharing
      • Time log history for the last 7 days (free tier)
      • Full history since signup for annual subscribers
      • Sharing time logs with others
    4. Subscription and paywall
      • Annual subscription purchase and cancellation flows
      • Upgrade prompts and clear, honest messaging about free vs. paid features (7-day history vs. full history)
    5. Appearance and design system
      • Light and dark modes across all platforms
      • A shared design system: color tokens for both themes, typography, spacing, icons, buttons, form fields, timer components and states
      • Platform-appropriate adaptations for web, Windows, macOS, Android (Material) and iOS (Human Interface Guidelines)
    6. Admin dashboard (Web)
      • Admin login, logout and password reset
      • Dashboard summary: total users, daily new users and daily active users
      • User list with signup date and total time tracked
      • Creating admin users and revoking admin access

    Deliverables

    • A Figma design system library with light and dark themes and core components
    • User flows and high-fidelity screens for all user features on web, Windows, macOS, Android and iOS
    • Subscription, paywall and cancellation flows
    • High-fidelity admin dashboard designs
    • Clickable Figma prototypes for the key flows: onboarding, tracking time, and upgrading
    • Developer-ready handoff files with specs, states, spacing and annotations

How You will Work With Our Team

    • You'll work closely with our web, desktop and mobile engineers, plus QA, and report to the product lead
    • You'll join regular check-ins or standups to share progress and resolve questions quickly
    • Designs are reviewed before handoff, then move to engineering and QA testing
    • You'll present work using Figma prototypes and iterate quickly on feedback
    • You'll work with engineers on platform constraints (for example, native desktop vs. mobile navigation patterns and in-app purchase rules on iOS and Android) so designs are feasible to build

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio showing cross-platform products (web, desktop and mobile)
    • Advanced Figma skills: components, variants, auto layout, styles and tokens, and prototyping
    • Proven experience building a design system, including light and dark themes
    • Strong knowledge of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Android Material Design
    • Experience designing SaaS dashboards and subscription or paywall flows
    • Solid grasp of usability, accessibility and responsive design
    • Experience handing designs off to engineering teams and working in agile workflows
    • Clear communication; comfortable presenting and explaining design decisions
    • Able to work independently and deliver on a tight timeline

    Nice to Have

    • Experience designing productivity or time-tracking tools
    • Experience designing native desktop apps (Windows and macOS)
