Waiter / Waitress at Huxton Hotel

Position Summary:

• As a waiter/waitress at Huxton Hotel, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
• You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in accordance with the hotel's standards.
• Your friendly and professional demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to creating a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding menu items.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
• Anticipate guests' needs and fulfill special requests to ensure a personalized dining experience.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
• Assist in setting up tables, arranging table settings, and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness in the dining area.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure efficient and coordinated service delivery.
• Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer guests' queries accurately.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines and ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new team members, as required.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a relevant qualification with 2 - 4 years relevant work experience.
• Prior experience as a waiter/waitress in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle guest requests and concerns tactfully.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for processing payments accurately.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, including proper serving techniques and etiquette.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays of food or beverage.
