Job Description

• The Waiter is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests by ensuring a welcoming dining experience, taking accurate orders, serving meals and beverages promptly, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and guest satisfaction in accordance with the hotel's service standards.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Service:

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables where applicable.
• Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, daily specials, and beverage options.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen or bar.
• Serve food and beverages professionally, following established service standards.
• Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any requests or concerns.
• Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests.
• Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return.

Restaurant Operations:

• Prepare the restaurant for service by setting tables with the appropriate cutlery, crockery, glassware, and linen.
• Ensure dining areas are clean, organized, and well-presented at all times.
• Replenish service stations with necessary supplies before, during, and after service.
• Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and breakdown where applicable.
• Coordinate effectively with kitchen, bar, and cashier teams to ensure smooth operations.

Food Safety and Hygiene:

• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Maintain excellent personal grooming and hygiene.
• Handle food and beverages in a safe and hygienic manner.
• Report any food quality or safety concerns immediately.

Sales and Guest Experience:

• Promote menu items, beverages, desserts, and daily specials to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
• Upsell food and beverage offerings where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with guests by providing attentive and personalized service.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Accurately process guest orders using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Ensure bills are accurate before presenting them to guests.
• Participate in daily briefings, departmental meetings, and training sessions.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory control when required.

Health, Safety and Security:

• Comply with all health, safety, and fire regulations.
• Report hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Ensure safe handling of equipment and restaurant materials.
