    VP, Product Technology

    Job Summary:

    Our Client, Africa’s fastest-growing enterprise marketing technology company who aggregates and enrich difficult-to-source consumer data, generating measurable outcomes for telco’s, banks, and larger brands is looking for a competent VP, Product Technology to help evangelise the company’s CDP to its potential customers, developing strong technical solutions that map to their business needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Leveraging the company’s core technology platform, you’ll work with your teams and other teams across the organization to build our client’s CDP into compelling software that’s both powerful and easy to use.
    • Product Strategy, execution and product lifecycle management for multiple value propositions of the company’s suite of products
    • Leverage key strategic partnerships to identify and solve for the African market context specific nuances
    • Help establish OKRs for immediate product organization, establish / refine the existing execution mechanisms to better align with strategic goals
    • Drive engagement with product marketing, product, consulting and customer success on existing gaps, futures, and product strategies
    • Lead product development teams through coaching, empowering, hiring, and retaining talent.
    • Setting objectives for teams that help align product development with key goal metrics for the business
    • Identify new external partnership opportunities within each market vertical based on a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and our customer’s needs
    • Partnering with engineering, designers, and broader UX to build software that’s useful, useable, delightful, and solves real customer pain
    • Building strategic crawl, walk, run plans and align the appropriate implementation plan to put our customers on a victory path through value realization.

    Knowledge and Skills Competence Requirements:

    • BA/BS degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience. An MBA degree is a plus
    • Experience in product marketing, business strategy or product strategy, ideally in a SaaS environment
    • Strong understanding of all facets of bringing a product to market, including market analysis, product-market fit, positioning strategy, MVP's, go-to-market strategy, pricing, testing, iterating based on feedback, etc.
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
    • Ability to work cross-functionally across time zones, and in a team and/or matrixed environment
    • Ability to influence key stakeholders across regions
    • A strong history of relationship building and collaboration with Engineering organizations
    • Background in Advertising & Marketing Technology
    • Significant experience and knowledge of Customer data platforms, and Marketing Clouds.

    Key Competences:

    • 8+ years of experience as VP, Product or a similar role
    • World class product Management skills
    • Strong business and technical skills
    • Strategic Product vision
    • Entrepreneurial and data driven mindset
    • Excellent leadership and project management skills; preferably hands-on experience with delivery on OKRs)
    • Strong sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
    • Ability to motivate and develop teams in a positive manner
    • Critical thinker but with a focus on solving the problems at hand
    • Commercially minded – able to dig into the business, understand drivers, engage and probe the teams on how to grow the business plus proffer ideas to that end 
    • Multitask and manage competing priorities and deliver to strict time deadlines
    • Right balance between detail oriented and focus on the bigger picture
