Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will be integrated into the Operations Team and participate in different aspects of the maritime activities to ensure the functioning of the activities at the port.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Port Operations Officer to lead and oversee the daily operations of maritime activities.
This role is critical in ensuring the smooth functioning of shipping, logistics, and port operations while maintaining compliance with international maritime laws and safety standards.
As a Port Operations Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including shipping companies, port authorities, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless operations.
You will also play a key role in optimizing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and implementing innovative solutions to improve overall performance.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily maritime operations, including shipping and port activities.
Work closely with the vessel planning Manager to streamline operations.
Ensure compliance with international maritime laws and safety standards.
Coordinate with shipping companies, port authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Lead and mentor a team of maritime professionals.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with maritime operations.
Implement environmental sustainability practices in operations.
Requirements
In accordance with the provisions of Article L122-1 of the French National Service Code, only candidates aged between 18 and 28 who are European nationals will be eligible for this VIE program.
5 years' higher education in Engineering, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field
Fluent in English and French
Analytical skills and business acumen
Presentation and good communication skills
Ability to work in an international environment and work in/manage remote teams
Autonomous and driving for results
Basic understanding of TOS ( terminal operating system ) is a plus point
Good command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint)
Being a good team player and be able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
