Veterinary Doctor (Poultry Production) at Animal Care Services Consult

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the overall health and welfare of poultry flocks
• Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases in poultry
• Develop and implement effective vaccination and medication programs
• Enforce strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks
• Conduct routine farm inspections and comprehensive health assessments
• Provide expert guidance on poultry nutrition, feeding programs, and flock management
• Supervise and train farm staff on animal health, welfare practices, and biosecurity protocols
• Manage and coordinate a large workforce (200+ poultry production staff), ensuring effective supervision and productivity
• Investigate and manage disease outbreaks, including proper reporting and containment measures
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date veterinary and production records
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards
• Collaborate with farm management to improve productivity and reduce mortality rates
• Monitor drug usage and ensure adherence to prescribed withdrawal periods
• Utilize data management systems to track performance, analyze trends, and support decision-making.
