    UAV Composite Manufacturing Technician

    About the Role

    • We are seeking a skilled, hands-on, and detail-oriented UAV Composite Manufacturing Technician to join our production team.
    • In this role, you will be the craftsman who physically brings our UAV structures to life. Moving fluidly between precise composite fabrication and full structural assembly, you will transform raw materials and engineering blueprints into high-performance, flight-ready airframes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Composite Part Fabrication: Oversee the end-to-end fabrication process of lightweight, high-strength UAV components. This includes mold preparation (surface prep and release agents), executing precise wet layups or prepreg layups using carbon fiber and fiberglass, and integrating core materials like foam and honeycomb.
    • Curing & Post-Processing: Manage resin handling, vacuum bagging setup, and oven/autoclave curing cycles. Safely demold, trim, and finish parts to exact design specifications.
    • Airframe Structural Assembly: Bond critical structural components and assemble major airframe sections, including fuselage halves, wings, and tails.
    • Hardware Integration & Alignment: Utilize jigs and fixtures to maintain precise aerodynamic alignment while installing hardpoints, metallic inserts, and structural fittings.
    • Quality Assurance & NDT: Conduct meticulous visual inspections and basic non-destructive testing (such as tap testing) to ensure structural integrity and void-free lamination.
    • Prototype Modification & Tooling Support: Build, modify, and maintain simple workshop molds, jigs, and fixtures. Support rapid prototyping adjustments and apply floor-level insights to improve overall manufacturability.

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Hands-on Experience: Proven experience working with advanced composite materials, specifically carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins, and vacuum bagging systems.
    • Precision & Craftsmanship: Strong spatial awareness and manual dexterity, with the ability to work accurately from engineering drawings, patterns, and jig setups.
    • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to troubleshooting layup defects, managing material cure cycles, and performing clean structural repairs or rework.
    • Workshop Savvy: Familiarity with workshop tools, precision cutting instruments, adhesives, and essential shop safety protocols.
    • Team Player: Ability to work closely with UAV Design Engineers to refine prototype structures and streamline the manufacturing workflow.
