Transport Operations Manager at DP World

Job Function:

• Responsible for the developing, planning, evaluating and implementing the strategies for overall efficient, effective and profitable management of Transport services of the company. The role combines transportation management responsibilities with leveraging data and analytics to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance.

Key Accountabilities:

Increase Profitability:

• Implement the strategy for efficient, effective and profitable transport service provision to achieve the set financial targets for transport operations.
• Supports profitability through relevant interpretation of data to improve all KPIs.
• Secure adherence to all contracts KPIs.

Value Creation:

• Manages all MDS Cold Chain Operations.
• Ensure all resource leakages are reviewed and blocked.
• Ensure adherence to contract provisions.
• Periodic interpretation of monthly operations report.
• Daily review of concluded trips and transactions.
• Engage the clients toward ensuring better operations condition for the company.
• Ensure efficient and optimal utilization of assets.
• Review and formulate efficient fuel utilization policy.
• Utilise various IT tools to drive operational efficiency.
• Hold the SFCs accountable for agreed targets.

Operational Efficiency:

• Manage cost of operations in line with business expectations.
• Monitors and ensure compliance to SLAs from all transport operations vendor.
• Administer driver’s and fleet controller’s incentive scheme.
• Monitors the activities of tracking/control room.
• Draw value and efficiency out of the utilization of the tracking tools and all other IT resources.
• Reduces vehicles downtime through efficient operations matrix.
• Secure reduction in operational losses as a result of non-compliance to contract provisions.
• Establish and maintain visibility across all managed assets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Logistics / Supply chain / social sciences / business administration.
• Postgraduate & professional qualifications may be an added advantage.

Skills and Experience:

• 5-7 years relevant experience.
• Good data analytical experience.
• Logistics management experience.
• Experience in employee reward system mechanism.
• Knowledge of Applicable Transport regulations in Nigeria.
• An understanding of the road network all over the country.
• Good understanding of supply chain management.
