    Transaction Advisory Services Advisor

    About the Role

    • Our company is looking to fill the role of a transaction advisory services advisor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the acquisition processes for major oil and gas assets for some of our clients – from target identification to due-diligence and deal close out.
    • He/she will have the opportunity to perform in-depth business analysis, work closely with appointed financing institutions and their consultants and advise our clients on how to maximize opportunities and minimize risks related to mergers and acquisitions.

    Responsibilities

    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to manage buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, providing transaction advisory, financial due diligence, acquisition support, divestiture support and post deal assistance to corporate clients.
    • Coordinate with clients and other appointed advisory firms throughout the transaction process including oversight of deliverables and delivering findings to clients.
    • Provide technical, advisory financial and accounting due diligence services to clients.
    • Responsible for engagement execution, including preparing agreed deliverables and presenting key financial due diligence findings and concepts.
    • Perform complex analyses, including analysis of cash flows, quality of assets and earnings, operating and profitability trends, working capital and report on key issues such as normalized earnings, valuation model input assumptions, achievability of management's budget, indebtedness considerations, identification of potential liabilities and risks.
    • Analyse Target company data to identify historical financial trends, quality of earnings and working capital considerations and potential liabilities and risks which may impact valuation of the target company.
    • Help our clients to understand the key drivers of the target company’s business, key risks, and potential value upside, and help them to make an informed investment decision.
    • Create and design tailored transaction advisory strategies specific to transactions.
    • Coordinate with clients, targets and other advisors on due diligence activities including the review of transaction documentation.
    • Perform client and industry research and prepare materials to support our pitches and proposals to clients.
    • Play an integral role in developing relationships with current and prospective clients, identify market opportunities and articulate our value proposition.
    • Provide technical guidance on client assignments including preparation of reports and ensure projects are delivered according to client specification and within set timelines.
    • Facilitate project contracting with associates and coordinate tasks undertaken by sub-consultants.
    • Ensure quality and internal risk management guidelines are observed during set up, execution and close out of projects.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree from any reputable University and preferably in a business-related or engineering field.
    • Professional qualifications – ICAN, CPA, ACCA, CFA or equivalents
    • Master’s degree or MBA – an advantage
    • A preferred minimum of 5 years of financial advisory, investment banking, financial due diligence, corporate finance, financial consulting, or other M&A experience; with a minimum of 2 years in the role of Manager within that practice.
    • Team player with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Advanced MS Excel skills and strong working knowledge of other MS Office applications.
    • Presentation skills mandatory
    • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
    • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in an unconventional work environment are essential.
    • Possess an uncommon drive and entrepreneurial spirit.
    • Demonstrated track record in undertaking buy side and vendor due diligence, business valuation and M&A projects.
    • Oil and Gas experience will be an advantage.
