Trainee Electrician at WTS Energy

Job Summary

• Assist the Lead Electrician to maintain, repair, and ensure uninterrupted operation of the unit’s electronic and electrical equipment.
• Area of responsibility covers electrical equipment on whole unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow PTW system, rules, regulations, and work procedures applicable to his responsibilities.
• Know Emergency Shutdown and Fire and Gas Detection systems.
• The maintenance and repair of all electronic and electrical equipment including (not limited to):
  • High and low voltage systems 
  • Radio equipment and navigation equipment 
  • Internal communications equipment 
  • Engine room equipment 
  • Generators and motors
• To report any hazardous situation or equipment failure to Lead Electrician and SEIT as appropriate.
• Carry out routine tests and checks on equipment as required by SEIT.
• Monitor spare parts inventory related to the area of responsibility.
• Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Maintenance of computer network.
• Undertake training relevant to the position requirements.
• On-the-job-training of colleagues and trainees.
• Member of Emergency Response Team. 

HSE Responsibility:

• Responsible for maintaining a high degree of awareness.
• Lead by doing; setting an example for others.
• Actively participate in Company HSEQ reporting program including Observation Card.
• Observe and report any unsafe activates, conditions or situations.
• If you observe anything unsafe use the “Stop Work” Policy.

Professional Qualifications

• Meet the standard of competence of electro-technical officer (ETO) STCW code A-III/6.
• Permitted to carry out maintenance on HV systems.
• 2 years’ experience as an EIT.
• Standard of competence according to the company’s Competence Assurance Matrix.
• Very good English written and spoken.
