    Technical Specialist, Integrated Health Programs

    Position Overview

    • The Technical Specialist – Integrated Health Programs will be instrumental in designing, overseeing, and implementing health programs focused on Health Systems Strengthening and Integrated Care.
    • This role spans multiple domains, including Health Governance, Health Finance, Human Resources for Health, Capacity Building, Health Policy and Advocacy, Reproductive, Maternal, and Child Health, Family Planning, Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, Global Health Security, and Public Health Preparedness.
    • The Technical Specialist will be responsible for driving internal coordination, leading a roster of technical experts & consultants, and supporting country-based advisors, national partners and country teams.
    • This is a high-visibility, high-impact role to bring together many stakeholders and decision-makers towards advancing health outcomes in Sociocapital’s geographies of work.
    • We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader with a background in scaling global health programs and experience in program design and management, advocacy and stakeholder engagement, business development, and donor relations.

    Key Responsibilities
    Health Systems Strengthening:

    • Lead initiatives to enhance integrated Reproductive, Maternal, and Child Health, as well as Family Planning, Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, Global Health Security and Public Health Preparedness programs.
    • Provide clinical insights and guidance to enhance the quality of healthcare services in supported programs and ensure that best practices are integrated into program design and implementation.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, strategies and to bolster health systems improvements at local and national levels including Health Governance, financing, Human Resources for Health, Capacity Building, and Health Policy and Advocacy efforts.
    • Foster strategic partnerships with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community stakeholders to maximize program impact.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning:

    • Develop, refine, and operationalize the Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) framework and support the design and implementation of outcome-focused monitoring and evaluation approaches and key performance indicators to be tracked on a regular basis.
    • Contribute to strategy, program management, and cross cutting data initiatives with focus on coherent, integrated theories of change, measurable impact models, collaborations and implementation plans to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.
    • Develop and curate high-quality content for use in development of knowledge management products such as technical briefs, white papers, articles, presentations, and world-changing speeches. Prepare and supervise the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail, leaflets, promotional videos/documentaries, and photographs.

    Global Health Program Delivery:

    • Craft evidence-based interventions to enhance health systems and integrated care.
    • Manage program’s budget, including monitoring expenditure and costs against the approved budget and deliverables.
    • Define program governance arrangements and manage expectations including ensuring quality assurance, internal consistency with compliance framework, and outward alignment with sponsors’, funders’, and investors’ requirement.
    • Facilitate project team including staff, consultants, volunteers, and team members to ensure delivery of expected outcomes to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget.

    Explore new strategies for scaling up global health solutions:

    • Lead the design and implementation of a knowledge management system to capture and share lessons learned, as well as recommendations and adaptations in partnership with relevant internal and external collaborators to design an effective initiative to support scale-up efforts.
    • Support business development to identify new funding opportunities to extend the project.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors and seek new funding opportunities such as grants, consultancies, contracts, investment opportunities.
    • Represent Sociocapital in national and regional meetings and serve as a key resource internally and externally.

    Qualifications

    • A Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, International Development, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of program management and technical expertise in public health, health systems strengthening, and integrated care.
    • Minimum of 3 years working in an NGO, INGO or in a related sector is desirable.
    • A profound understanding of the healthcare landscape in Nigeria and a history of work on health-related programs in the region.
    • Proven experience in business development and securing funding from donors.
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
    • Effective stakeholder management, leadership, team management, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs.
    • Strong working knowledge of program Monitoring and Evaluation principles.
    • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as project management tools.
