Job Summary

• The Technical Business Analyst bridges business objectives and technology delivery. In this role, The Technical Business Analyst bridges business objectives and technology delivery. The role discovers and clarifies requirements, maps business processes, translates needs into implementable functional and technical specifications, supports solution design, and ensures delivered capabilities meet agreed business outcomes. The Technical BA dimension requires strong understanding of APIs, integrations, data, system behaviour, non-functional requirements, and modern software delivery practices. The role also requires the ability to communicate technical complexities to both technical stakeholder and non technical stake holders in such a way that would make perfect sense to the listener.

Job Details

• Engage business stakeholders, Product Owners, users, vendors and technology teams to understand problems, objectives, constraints, and desired outcomes. 
• Elicit requirements through interviews, workshops, observation, process walkthroughs, document analysis, data analysis and other appropriate techniques.
•  Translate business needs into clear business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, process flows, business rules, and system requirements. 
• For technical initiatives, define interface requirements, API behaviours, payload expectations, validation rules, data mappings, error scenarios, dependencies, security considerations, and integration flows. 
• Create current-state and future-state process maps using BPMN, UML, swimlane diagrams, sequence diagrams, context diagrams, or equivalent modelling techniques. 
• Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, dependency analysis, root-cause analysis, and options assessment to support sound solution decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline. 
• 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role within software/product delivery. 
• Demonstrable experience producing high-quality requirements, user stories, process documentation, acceptance criteria, and supporting software delivery from discovery through UAT/release.
•  Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with Product, Engineering, QA, UX/UI, DevOps, and business stakeholders. 
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle concepts, client-server applications, databases, APIs, integrations, authentication/authorization, and system dependencies. 
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and common formats/protocols such as JSON, HTTP methods/status codes, webhooks, and asynchronous integration concepts. 
• Ability to interpret API documentation using tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI and to validate APIs using Postman or similar tools. 
• Working SQL knowledge for data validation, analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting is strongly preferred for Technical BA responsibilities.
•  Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps/Boards, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Draw.io, Lucidchart, Figma, or equivalent requirements/documentation tools. 
• IIBA ECBA/CCBA/CBAP, BCS Business Analysis certification, PMI-PBA, or equivalent business-analysis certification.
