Technical Assistant to the Managing Director at a Power and Energy Company

Job Description:

As a Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and articulating the technical and financial narratives of our projects. Your work will involve developing detailed business plans, funding information memorandums, and presentations that effectively communicate our project ambitions and business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to understand and align on strategic objectives.
• Develop comprehensive business plans and funding memorandums, ensuring technical accuracy and financial viability.
• Create compelling presentations and other materials to clearly describe complex technical projects to diverse stakeholders.
• Conduct rigorous technical and financial analysis to support project development and corporate finance activities.
• Liaise with technical and finance teams to gather relevant data and insights.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to inform strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree or MBA with a focus on Economics, Finance, or Business is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role within the energy, consulting or the corporate finance sector with exposure to project finance.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, economic analysis, and technical assessment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a business context.
• Highly analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of the Nigerian and African energy landscape is a plus.
