    Technical Advisor (To Managing Director)

    ​​​​​​​Responsibilities

    Administrative:

    • Provide daily technical and administrative support to ensure the MD’s office is operated at the highest standards.
    • Attend meetings and travel with the Managing Director for meetings, conferences, events, etc., as required. • Conduct research, develop presentations and edit documents for the MD as assigned.
    • Deputize for the Managing Director as required.

    Facilities & Projects:

    • Collaborate with facilities staff by reviewing all project facilities' design, construction and maintenance.
    • Establish and maintain engineering standards, designs, process models, equipment specifications, and safety reviews.
    • Ensure all contractors, partners and staff work according to the company’s HSSE policy and standards to guarantee zero LTI and the protection of people and the environment.
    • Attend facilities and projects meetings where necessary.
    • Contribute to the activities of all facilities staff.

    Subsurface:

    • Collaborate with the subsurface team to ensure efficient and effective exploration and production research and recommended innovative solutions to the project team.
    • Opine on technical drawings, datasheets and reports for the subsurface team.
    •  Attend subsurface meetings where necessary.
    • Contribute to the activities of all subsurface staff.

    Operations:

    • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure project activities are in line with project milestones.
    • Review the implementation of processes and procedures to develop and improve field execution and operational-based processes.
    • Attend operations meetings where necessary.
    • Contribute to the activities of all operations staff.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; master’s will be an added advantage
    • A minimum of 15 years of proven experience in the oil and gas industry.
    • Demonstrable experience and expertise working in a Joint Project Management Team or JV structure. Proven work experience with NEPL is an advantage.
    • In-depth knowledge of Budget Management, Project Management, Compliance Management, Well Intervention, Drilling, Database Management, Vendor Relationship Management, and Office Management systems and procedures.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to lead and challenge others constructively and negotiate with internal peers, partners and third parties to influence decisions or ways of working.

    • Strong working knowledge of Engineering Software and Project Management tools.
    • Ability to lead and supervise multiple teams and sub-teams.

    • Ability to handle large amounts of complex information in a detailed and coordinated manner and to identify critical issues and workflows.
    • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality.
    • Good problem-solving skills (combining learned procedures and related experience).
    • Commitment to the highest principles of ethics and quality of work with a solid adherence to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) objectives.
