    Team Lead, Institutional Banking

    • The Team Lead, Institutional Banking will be responsible for driving business growth and relationship management within the institutional banking segment, focusing on NPA, NIMASA, FAAN value chain businesses, contractors, suppliers, and other federal government contractors. The role requires strategic leadership in deposit mobilization, risk asset creation, and profit optimization while ensuring customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development & Relationship Management

    • Develop and execute strategies to deepen existing relationships and acquire new institutional banking clients, particularly in the NPA, NIMASA, FAAN value chain.
    • Build strong partnerships with contractors, suppliers, and federal government contractors to increase wallet share.Identify opportunities for cross-selling the bank’s products and services, including trade finance, treasury, and investment solutions.
    • Drive deposit mobilization initiatives and ensure consistent growth in the customer portfolio.

    Risk Asset Creation & Credit Management

    • Originate and structure credit facilities to support institutional clients while ensuring profitability and risk mitigation.
    • Collaborate with the risk and credit teams to assess and approve viable financing opportunities.
    • Monitor and manage loan portfolios to minimize non-performing assets (NPA contractors,shipping companies, logistics companies and agents)and ensure compliance with regulatory and bank policies.

    Profitability & Financial Performance

    • Drive revenue growth by optimizing product penetration and profitability per client.
    • Analyze financial data and market trends to provide insights that support business decisions.
    • Ensure proper pricing of financial products to enhance net interest margin (NIM) and overall profitability.

    Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., treasury, risk, operations) to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
    • Represent the bank in industry meetings, conferences, and networking events to enhance visibility and market positioning.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Growth in deposit mobilization and funds under management.
    • Expansion of institutional banking client base and deepened relationships.
    • Volume of risk asset creation with acceptable credit quality.
    • Revenue growth and profitability contribution to the bank.
    • Effective management of the team and achievement of set targets.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as CFA, ACIB, or MBA is an added advantage).
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of banking experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within institutional or commercial banking.
    • Strong business development, financial analysis, and credit structuring skills.
    • Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and networking abilities.In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, financial products, and industry best practices.Proven ability to drive profitability and achieve business targets
