    Systems and Networks Administrator

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years in system and network administration.

    Certification:

    • CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or other relevant certifications.

    Description:

    • Join our team at Nigerian British University as a System Network Administrator and play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and security of our system and network infrastructure.
    • Aspart of our Information and Computer Technology (ICT) department, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success of ourinstitution.
    • You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, networks, and infrastructure, ensuring high availability,security, and performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain university computer systems, including servers, desktops, and laptops.
    • Network Administration: Design, implement, and maintain university networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
    • Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
    • System and Network Monitoring: Monitor system and network performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations.
    • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system and network issues, resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
    • User Support: Provide technical support and training to university staff and students, ensuring they can effectively utilize computer systems and networks.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system and network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
    • Compliance: Ensure systems and networks comply with university policies, industry regulations, and relevant laws.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience: Proven experience in system and network administration, preferably in a university or similar environment.
    • Certifications: CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or other relevant certifications.
    • Technical: Strong technical knowledge of operating systems and servers (Windows, Linux, macOS), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and network devices.
    • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system and network issues.
