Structural Engineer (Major Structures) at Jamub Group

Key Responsibilities
Site-Based Role:

• Supervise and inspect all structural works for major bridges, culverts, retaining walls, abutments, and other load-bearing railway structures to ensure compliance with approved design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Monitor reinforcement placement, concrete works, formwork, and structural steel fabrication/erection to ensure quality control and adherence to tolerances.
• Coordinate with survey teams to verify alignment and setting-out of structural works.
• Identify and resolve on-site structural issues in liaison with the Head Office design team.
• Ensure compliance with railway infrastructure safety standards, construction method statements, and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• B.Eng / B.Sc. in Civil or Structural Engineering (M.Sc. in Structural or Bridge Engineering preferred).
• COREN registration (mandatory).
• Membership of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and/or Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience in structural design and supervision for large-scale transport infrastructure projects, preferably railway.
• Proven Knowledge in bridge design, structural steelwork design, and concrete structure design.
