Structural Engineer (Major Structures) at Jamub Group

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for major railway structures using STAAD Pro, PROTA Structures, Tekla Structures, and/or Midas Civil.
• Develop bridge designs (including steel girder, pre-stressed concrete, and composite structures) and structural steel designs for stations, gantries, and ancillary facilities.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and method statements for compliance with design intent, project specifications, and relevant codes such as Eurocodes, BS EN, and AREMA railway standards.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, bar bending schedules, fabrication details, and as-built records.
• Provide technical guidance to the site team, resolve design conflicts, and advise on structural modifications when required.
• Coordinate with alignment, geotechnical, civil works, and hydrology teams to ensure structural integrity and integration within the corridor design.

Qualifications

• B.Eng / B.Sc Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (M.Sc. in Structural or Bridge Engineering preferred).
• COREN registration (mandatory).
• Membership of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and/or Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience in structural design and supervision for large-scale transport infrastructure projects, preferably railway.
• Proven Knowledge in bridge design, structural steelwork design, and concrete structure design.
