    Strategic Risk & Execution Manager

    Job Title: Strategic Risk & Execution Manager

    Reporting Line: Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer

    Job Summary

    Serves to develop and grow the organization by ensuring a disciplined enterprise risk management process that drives strategic planning in major initiatives for execution; identifies risks arising from the business environment as well as instituting adequate controls.

    Description of Contribution

    Risk Assessment

    • Identify and understand the operations and processes of UFL and SWAN and the risks inherent in the processes.
    • Identification of risks inherent in the business and providing recommendations on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in place to minimize such risks.
    • Review and comment on the economy, efficiency, effectiveness of the operations and monitor the environment in which UFL operates to ensure that the business is adequately safeguarded against waste, fraud, and avoidable loss.
    • Participate in audit review meetings.
    • Update the risk register of UFL and SWAN with emerging risks which may have arisen either through internal changes or new legislation.
    • Compile risk and compliance reports and submit to the Managing Director on a periodic and ad-hoc basis.
    • Assess the adequacy of the design of existing controls within UFL and SWAN and proffer recommendations.
    • Determine whether the Key Risk Indicators (KRI) values of reviewed processes have exceeded the limits for the UFL and SWAN

    Assist with the Risk Management Training.

    • Follow up on all risk, compliance, and audit issues (internal and external) and recommendations.
    • Assist to perform an analysis on existing policies and procedures of UFL and SWAN to determine whether gap(s) exist and recommend applicable environment and closure of gaps identified.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of formal written policies and procedures in UFL and SWAN.
    • Participate and/or lead various compliance, investigations, risk management, and process improvement initiatives.
    • Build strong working relationships with internal departments, and auditors (internal and external).

    Strategic Planning Coordinator

    • Prepare and organize the three-year strategic planning exercise of the company.
    • Generate data requirement and prepare a pre-read document.
    • Organize all elements of the strategic workshop.
    • Determine relevant key performance indicators for the organization and each department therein.
    • Assess progress of execution of the strategic plan and highlight risks to execution or significant assumptions at variance with plan.

    Execution Monitoring & Reporting

    • Collate monthly all relevant operational data from each department to assess performance.
    • Assess whether performance in line with strategic plan.
    • Highlight significant deviations that could impact performance of the company.
    • Monitor agreed actions by management regarding audit findings.
    • Prepare the company monthly report for the Board.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will possess

    • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with NYSC certificate
    • 10years’ relevant experience with MBA or Risk Management Qualification
    •  Knowledge of assessment of business risk from internal and external perspective.
    •  Has held a function with planning and budget responsibility.
    • Business experience (Sales, Marketing, Strategy) will be an advantage.
    • Analytical skills involving data collection and analysis.
    • Good communication and persuasive skills
    • Report writing and presentation skills
    • Practical knowledge of office tools (word, excel & power point)
    • Ability to understand broad business issues
    • Absolute confidentiality, high integrity, innovation and creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.
