Quality Control Officer at Wangarau Foods

Wangaraufoods is a food processing and agro based company involved in traditional and modern food processing, including firewood roasted products, dried proteins, snacks, and packaged food items.

We are seeking a Quality Control Officer to oversee product quality, food safety, and hygiene across our production and packaging operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials and ensure they meet quality and safety standards before processing.
• Monitor production processes including roasting, drying, smoking, sorting, and packaging.
• Ensure products meet required standards for taste, dryness, appearance, weight, and hygiene.
• Check finished goods before storage and dispatch.
• Enforce hygiene and cleanliness standards on the production floor.
• Prevent contamination across raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
• Maintain quality control records and reports.
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements when needed.
• Train production staff on basic hygiene and quality practices.

Requirements

• BA/BSc/HND in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in food production or processing.
• Good understanding of food safety and quality control practices.
• Experience with traditional food processing methods is an advantage.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and enforce standards firmly.
• Willingness to work in a production environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
