The ideal candidate will cover local and international sports, athletes, competitions, and industry developments with originality and journalistic integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and report sports news, features, match reports, and opinion pieces
• Cover major sporting events, athletes, teams, and emerging sports trends
• Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, analysts, and sports professionals
• Generate fresh story ideas that resonate with sports audiences
• Ensure factual accuracy, speed, and editorial quality in all content
• Collaborate with multimedia teams to support video, social, and digital storytelling

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong passion for sports and deep knowledge of major sporting disciplines
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle breaking news
• Strong research, interviewing, and analytical abilities
• Understanding of digital publishing and audience engagement
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field
• Previous experience in sports journalism or sports media is an advantage
