Job Description

Solar Installation

• Install solar panels, inverters, lithium/lead-acid batteries, charge controllers, breakers, protection devices, and related components.
• Carry out proper DC and AC cabling, termination, earthing, and system connections.
• Support site surveys and basic load assessments before installation.
• Mount solar panels securely on rooftops, ground structures, or other approved locations.
• Ensure installations comply with approved designs, specifications, and safety requirements.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on solar power systems.
• Diagnose faults relating to inverters, batteries, panels, wiring, breakers, and electrical connections.
• Test system voltage, current, battery condition, charging performance, and overall system output.
• Replace or repair faulty components as required.
• Respond promptly to customer or site complaints relating to system performance.

Testing & Commissioning

• Conduct system checks and testing after installation.
• Support commissioning of newly installed solar systems.
• Confirm that systems are operating safely and within required performance parameters.
• Identify installation defects and rectify them before handover.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to electrical safety procedures and company HSE requirements.
• Use appropriate PPE during installation and maintenance activities.
• Ensure safe working practices when working at height, on rooftops, or around electrical equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, or potential hazards immediately.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete installation, maintenance, and service reports accurately.
• Record faults identified, corrective actions taken, and components replaced.
• Maintain proper records of tools, materials, and equipment used on assigned jobs.
• Escalate major technical faults to the Technical Supervisor or Engineer.

Customer & Site Support

• Maintain professional conduct while working at customer locations.
• Explain basic system operation and maintenance requirements to customers where required.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean and properly restored after installation or maintenance.
• Protect company and customer equipment while on site.
