The Solar Technician will provide support to Project Engineers in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
The ideal candidate is skilled and safety-focused with attention to detail and comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and maintenance of power systems, including AVRs, UPS, and Inverters etc.
Support senior engineers in conducting power audits, feasibility studies, site surveys, and electrical system assessments for renewable energy projects.
Collaborate with the engineering team to create detailed electrical drawings, diagrams, and specifications for solar installations.
Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar energy systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to solar power systems, ensuring optimal system performance.
Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in the renewable energy sector to contribute innovative ideas to project designs.
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards are met.
Document service activities, issues, and resolutions
Communicate clearly with supervisors, teammates, and customers on-site
Adhere to safety protocols and standards throughout project execution, prioritizing a safe working environment for all team members.
Qualifications & Requirements
OND in Electrical Engineering or a Technical Certificate from Recognised Technical Institutes
2 years’ experience in designing and implementing electrical and solar power systems
Strong knowledge of system design, electrical schematics, and cost estimation techniques
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
Comfortable working on rooftops, ladders, and in outdoor environments
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Teamwork and communication skills.
