Solar Design Engineer at Simba Group

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in line with project requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate technical feasibility and system requirements.
• Prepare detailed system layouts, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Perform load analysis and energy yield simulations to support accurate system sizing.
• Select appropriate system components, including modules, inverters, cables, and mounting structures.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and local regulations.
• Use design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Helioscope to develop accurate system designs.
• Prepare technical documentation, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and project reports.
• Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support the delivery of reliable, high-performance, and cost-effective solar solutions.

Skills Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in solar PV system design using AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Helioscope.
• Solid understanding of electrical and basic structural design principles.
• Knowledge of solar standards, grid interconnection requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with load analysis and energy yield estimation.
• Strong component selection knowledge (modules, inverters, cables, balance of system).
• Ability to prepare BOQs and detailed project documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and technical reporting.
