Software QA Tester Intern at Gurugeeks Royalty

We are looking for a young graduate to join our Internship program which in a short period would build capacity to function as a permanent Associate with the responsibilities highlighted below.

Purpose of Job

Testing the functionality and useability of new or existing software and ensure it is bug free before it goes live. To work closely with the developers, providing feedback on what needs improvement in order to produce top quality programs that exceed customers’ expectations. In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. You also must be competent in executing test cases and be passionate about quality,

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze system specifications.
• Collaborate with developers for effective strategies and test plans.
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
• Evaluate product code according to specifications.
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
• Report bugs and errors to development teams.
• Help troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience 

• A minimum HND Degree or higher in any field however, with background software development.

Nice to have:

• Experience in SDLC and QA testing and other similar roles.
• Experience in project management and QA methodology.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus.
• Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
• Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr) and SQL.
• Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
